Hi all, I'm currently trying to decide which one to purchase, the Deluxe or the Special Edition. From differences between them, the only routes that I do not have yet are these three: I'm interested in the last two (Bremen and London Overground), especially the London Overground line since I've ridden it many years ago. When doing the math (using steamdb.info) it appears that the special edition could be the best option even for just London Overground & Bremen Oldenburg, unless the upcoming steam train fest discounts Bremen Oldenburg down to -80% (such as during the last fest in April) instead of the usual -50% off. Which one do you think would be the best option, money wise? Deluxe (and wait for the sale) or Special Edition?
Both NYT and BRO went 80% off earlier this year as the "main" route of a sale, so -80% is not likely. GOBLIN is reaching its half-year anniversary, you may expect 50% off. If DTG don't do something unexpected, it's better to purchase the Special Edition.
Thank you! I've been away from the TSW for a while, so I didn't know the details of that sale. Do you think that the BR101 expert might go on sale or is it likely to be too recent of a release?
I went for the special edition because I didn't own Suffragette Line, Bremen or NY - Trenton so that's about £90 of content at full price.
Too recent. Usually you expect 50% off after 6 month of release, though if the sales figure are high BPO it may be later. For a 20% - 30% off, probably 3 months.
