I started on WCML and found with my Rail Driver plugged in I was having all kinds of problems with the controls. Trying to set the headlight to day, it would click over to day and right back to marker. The PBC was iffy at best. Will have to drive with the keyboard until this is sorted. Want to add, this is only affecting TSW5 routes. I just tested it with BCC and the Rail Driver work fine. Son/t know if it will help but will do a calibration tomorrow on the 350.
I'm also having problems with my Rail Driver. After calibrating successfully, throttle controls are moving back and forth by themselves. I noticed this on both the Frankfurt-Fulda and San Bernadino routes.
That is the same thing I am seeing. So for right now, can't use it on TSW5. Al least you can still use it fine on the older routes using TSW4. Without Rail Driver working in TSW5, I am going to play TSW4 for now.
I’m having the same experience—throttle and brake move by themselves uncontrollably, and particularly bad is the 390 which keeps clicking on and off the Hill Start button.
I'm trying to find out if the Rail Driver plays OK in TSW5. I'm looking to get back into the game and purchase some English routes like the Preston to Carlisle but I read there were problems but do these still exist and for what Loco? DTG just ignore RailDriver now even though it was them that pushed it in TSW2, the makers of the RD would happily get involved if they had access to the software which DTG won't allow. Any information would be great.
Experiences seem to vary. I find RailDriver works OK in TSW5 - albeit not quite as well as it did in TSW4, as you now get slight ‘wobble’ on some levers. As far as I’m aware DTG have been silent on this, although it’s reported on multiple threads. On the Preston - Carlisle route, RailDriver is not useable on the Class 87 (as there’s no means to hold the power controller in the ‘Run Up’ position) and is completely non-functional on the versions of the Class 47 designed for the route (again, there’s been silence on this as far as I’m aware). On the other hand, the Preston-Carlisle route is outstanding in every other respect, so even as a RailDriver fan, I’d recommend it. However, I’d suggest first buying the Blackpool Branches route, which is also superbly built, and on which all trains work with RailDriver. If you like it, and you decide to add Preston-Carlisle, you’ll then have the Blackpool Branches Class 47 (which is virtually the same) which you can use on Preston-Carlisle and which works with RailDriver on that route too. Edit: I’ve just seen in another thread that Jamie said in early November that DTG are investigating the RailDriver issues with TSW5.
