Just had a bit of a run on the WCML and I must say that the lack of 8car services on the timetable is really poor. In real life it’s extremely rare to have LNR services running 4 car services
I agree. In the Class 390 driver viewpoint Bluray I have I would say nearly all class 350's were 8 car. IMO the whole timetable issue is due to lower spec consoles, and the reason DTG are refusing to carry out any work improving the Timetable would mean they would have to spend time creating a realistic timetable for WCMLS. This is not a knock at console players, I owned a PS4 for years. I even played Assetto Corsa Competizione on it.
I think it's why they've also completely avoided the 350/1 question, as there are only 30x in that subclass and running 8 car services would leave 15 sets running the entire service... I've been mentioning it from the start but still no answers, or if they are purposely avoiding such a simple question I don't know. It wouldn't be that hard to add the /3 & /4 sub class numbers without the need to modify the existing model, and would avoid duplications errors happening.
The timetable issues are absolutely nothing to do with DTG trying to cater for console players. DTG have proven that if a specific console struggles with a certain timetable, they can create a reduced timetable for the less abled consoles, while the more powerful systems don’t miss out.
DTG have said in the past, I believe when NYT released with the same issue, that they build the timetable for PC and Gen 9 first and then dumb it down for 8th gen. So those consoles have no effect. I bet it is more of they ran out of time again and it took way more than they estimated it would when they started. Probably a few months instead of a few weeks. With NYT they also said they were not doing anything with the timetable and ended up making it more realistic with traffic. They are known to say no until they have a concrete plan and time frame in mind. However I think from what I'm reading Series S seems to need the 8th gen timetable.
The thing which seems not has arrived in Rivets or DTGs houses. Researching the area of your hometown and do it properly the first time is way less time consuming than ductape this rather big issue afterwards. I have to say it, the timetable seems to be "devs ran out of time", in other words lazy. (Lack of qualiy + lack of willingness to properly fix it..) As i customer i judge the end result. Deadlines which can be extended for delivering a solid product is DTGs problem. Im sure they didnt have the time to do the maths for a popular dlc with plenty of extramile compared to annoying customers all over the place and a bad rating on top.
It should have it as an option, it usually does, but should also have the option of the full timetable. Usually the full timetables run silky smooth for me, just as nicely as I get from my PC so do hope the option isn't taken away.
