Dovetail Games Frankfurt - Fulda: Kinzigtalbahn & Flixtrain Vectron Preview - Q & A Thread

I noted from the Time lapse video that a number of services disappear under the main station. Is this AI traffic or playable services? How much of Frankfurt Hbf is modelled - is it a bi-level station for Express/Regional and Commuter services?

 

Can we get details about the ICE-T sounds? How many here obtained from the real train, what was the process of obtaining the sounds.
Also can we get a departure for the ICE-T without voice-overs for the first minute in oder to hear the sounds of traction equipment and wheels clearly?

 

Are the timetables synced up between Frankfurt-Fulda and Kassel-Wurzburg?

To clarify, picture this scenario;
- I drive a service mode ICE from Frankfurt to Fulda (and arrive on time)
- I get out of the train and walk along the station in Fulda to Route-Hop over to Kassel-Wurzburg
- I walk back to the platform I came in on.
-> Can I expect to have an ICE train waiting there for me to continue my journey to Kassel as a 'continuation' of my previous drive?

 

That would imply they have the timetables set during the same year with the exact same times. Wouldn't count on it.

 

Really looking forward to this as I regularly travel to Frankfurt by train. For maximum immersion, full use should be made of layering to give the feeling of an "organic", alive railway. What layers are planned?

Agreed, gets abit more exciting on the Frankfurt end of course but other than that it’s the usual run of the mill German experience.

That said the drive from here to there 1 hour express services aren’t usually that exciting. Maybe an RE/RB will be more fun.

I do wish they would turn off Sifa during streams, it’s just an annoying distraction and adds nothing to the appreciation of the route.

 

Small minor bug that i have noticed.... The Flixtrain vectron has possibility to run in Sweden, its possible with land selection on the DMI but its missing on the side sticker for the accepted countries for this loco. It shows only A for Austria and D for Germany.... S for Sweden is missing.

Also the amount off passengers on FFM is not what it should be.... I think this presents covid period or?! Its empty

 

Now they gotta do the layer on Mannheim-Kaiserslautern, basically the same trains (Frankfurt-Paris/Marseille) just on another route

 

Just thinking that myself. It's rare that German content disappoints.

It was always going to be the case this was going to be the make or break.

As I said in another thread, take the Deluxe version as being the German and US route, with the WCMLS thrown in as a "bonus".

 

The San Bernardino was also good to watch and looks very good

 

The horn of the MP 36 is also kinda funny

 

I think its one of those routes that are more fun to drive than to watch.
It has many speed changes and switching between safety systems.

 

Ive ask him what he means with "Boring".... For me its a route that has everything in it... Freight, City, Regional, Regional Express, IC, D and ICE services... What do you expect to make it less boring? KWG calling Boring i can understand that but not this route....

 

This looked really great, lot's of details. Shame you didn't really show a lot of Frankfurt Hbf though.
This route has so much to offer with different type of playable traffic, many layers, lot's of AI for making it lively.
Love the variety, and the new conductor mode looks fun as well.

 

It did look great. Leaning towards the Deluxe Edition now.

The thing with the faulty safety systems of the BR 114 was a bit concerning though, will this be addressed soon? I don’t want to drive it without sifa/PZB.

 

The KWG version of the 146 had the exact same problem.

 

Off course they already talked about it in the stream and they will look to that ASAP

 

Hey, does anyone know how many Flixtrain services there are on Frankfurt? Also if they talked about if it layers onto other routes? Or if there was any plans thanks.

 

6 services were shown in the stream.

I think they said Joe's new SKA timetable will have a layer but nothing else.

I saw the streaming yesterday, and it is a really great route!
Lot of traffic also.
But...
I was surprised - not in the nice way - when Matt showed the first run.
It was a train with Dostos, and payed my attention being a very big train terminal - the main in Germany! - there were almost no other trains, and there was no other people around. It looked almost empty!.

Even as it is common - unfortunately! when you start a service - you expect people getting in, but when the doors are open, most of them leave the train! In the departure station. Which happened yesterday on the stream. It is supposed people is getting into the train.

This have been an issue from the previous generations on TSW.
Could someone of DTG explain what is the reason?
Probably it is a technical one, which is not easy to fix.
Hopes this could be solved sometime in the future.

When later Matt being on Conductor Mode, sit down - after completing his duty -, I noticed something very interesting, I have not noticed before: the persons around him, looking at their eyes, they are blinking! Really nice detail!

 

Missing the Shift R shortcut for AFB acknowledge in the Flixtrain Vectron. Is there another shortcut?

It's ctrl-f now.
Just don't hit ctrl-r accidentally, because that'll trip the AFB.

I suppose they changed the previous scheme with shift-f AND shift-r used for this on the previous Vectron, because shift-f is now fast travel.

The new solution is much less convenient though, shift plus lever key, whichever, was much more intuitive and consistent with the train length function, where it is still shift-a/d.

Am driving my first full route train with the DB Vectron and really enjoying it. TSG has done a great job on this route.
