It's extremely loud in proper tunnels!
Had the Mrs fly off the settee.
The route is busier than I expected from the stream ,I counted thirty one moving a.i in thirty minutes.

this is EXACTLY what Rivet did with their Fife Circle timetable.. it was limited in number to begin with but then you look deeper and see so many shunt services, meaning there are even less mainline services

I get the impression atleast with the 350 it was developed by Rivet with the exception of the sounds. The cab air-conditioning doesn't work at all, where as with The DTG 380 it works absolutely fine. (I've already given it a review in my previous post from last night). Another tell tell sign is how the cab windows open on a 0% - 100% measurement, where as DTG stuff is usually just open or closed!

Are the shunts even needed? The original timetable does not have them.
Guess this is further proof that Froggy Studios made the timetable.

Please put out a fix for the crashing on Series S, it’s literally unplayable.

what exactly does "quality low" mean? I assume that's the settings your playing on, because that's not constructive feedback.

All the valid negative feed back is available to read from yesterday onwards. It definitely is a lower quality route and not upto TSW4 standards let alone TSW5. As I mentioned in my own review in this thread this feels like a TSW2 route...

The shunts are definitely needed for the 72 Tube stock, it's how they swap platforms at Harrow & Wieldstone and at Queen's Park.. The original (2021) timetable does have them, they are just part of the preceding or following services (correct practice).

I have the same feeling, there even the collectible item “Route Map” is made to look like it's from the TSW 2 era. Compare it to the map on Frankfurt.

But you don't even own the route, you haven't even played it, you wrote it off as soon as Rivet's name was mentioned. It looks nothing like a TSW2 route, the station assets are excellent, the lineside foliage and clutter is as good as any, and the gameplay variety is good. Apart from a few minor bugs that will be cleaned up in a patch, and the talked about potential to fill out the timetable a bit more it's a solid route. Maybe you would have a different opinion if you played it?

As there are two feedback threads I thought it best to add my comments on both.

WCML - It's pretty good, there are bugs but I've not noticed any that haven't been mentioned. My only plea to DTG JD & DTG Matt is that we get a fuller LO Timetable. I appreciate a 15 min headway with Bakerloo trains in between may really impact performance, but even a frequency of every 30 mins would improve immersion and give us more services to play with.

Your sarcasm aside, TSW absolutely should have a beta branch.

ATS/ETS2 do it and i think it works really well.

If you want to get a preview of the newest version, you can opt-in, and if not you can stay on the public branch.

Ok, as someone that has played it, and opened it up in the editor.
    1. The Station assets are ok in the new sections, but the signage is awful, it's using the default UE font. The old Bakerloo stations haven't been touched at all. Stop markers are missing, clutter is missing and some platforms have the PIS linked to the wrong platforms.
    2. Line side foliage and clutter is the worst of any route released in the last year, it's even worse than Fife. 3D grass is missing in large areas, instead relying on a flat 2d texture. The landscape materials are also configured wrong and shine in the sun like they are made of glass/reflective material.
    3. I'm not going to start on the timetable.
    4. The Bakerloo section (40% of the map) literally is the TSW2 route, it's been updated with some improved lighting and that is it. SO yes it does look like a TSW2 route in part.

The whole thing just screams laziness.

Absolutely zero passion in making a great route. It’s like everything was just bare bones to get it out the door. I won’t accept being told anything differently. It clearly needs a lot more work than just an enhanced, accurate timetable.

I think he's more pointing out that the simple mention of Rivet led people to automatically conclude the route would be a complete write-off, when they've only seen previews of the route.

    I think if D
I think if DTG released a paid beta version of TSW and advertised it as that, so there is no problem with getting the version back as players own it. DTG could get the help of members on forums and the community to troubleshoot the game, I would say they would do a fantastic job making the game great. Then by official release the game would be bulletproof.

And? Is this not a reasonable thing to presume? Rivet have been around making TSW DLC for years now with no signs of improvement at all, they continue to release unfinished trash with no improvements post-release, they've had their chance.

I think you'll find I do own it if you have seen my review, and it's not just some minor errors. There's room for errors in any add on, but the level of them on the WCML is quite bad to say the least.

So the 64 million dollar question is this: Shall I buy the deluxe edition now, and hope the WCMLS is fixed properly, and enjoy the other routes, or not bother? Haven't played the game yet, seen a lot of videos, varying wildly in their praise/criticism. On PS5 so no layers apparently until next week?

My bad. So Rivet just didn't set them up as part of the preceding or following services.

I think overall TSW5 is moving in the right direction based on what i've played on Series X so far.

Finally got everything downloaded on Steam so wel'll see how performance and everything holds up with all layers.

My biggest feedback so far is that WCMLS has the potential to be one of the best UK routes IF DTG commit to fixing the timetable, bringing the Bakerloo section up to TSW5 standard, and making another scenery pass (it's not awful IMO but compared to SBD the station and trackside detail is lacking). All the pieces are there, they just need to bring it all together more convincingly for it to truly be a flagship route IMO.

Will DTG step up and do the right thing?

But it's been said that developers other than Rivet also had a hand in developing the WCML, so why the blame solely on them?

This is only a presumption but I've a feeling Rivet is responsible for the entire infrastructure of the WCML from the way the whole route has been built and including the 350. I could be proven wrong yet, but the 390 does feel like the exception as the build quality and physics are really nice.

I'm surprised many more people don't kick off about the UK speed signs as well. The font they use is terrible. We've only been waiting 6 or so years for a decent realistic set. The German routes have a realistic set, why not UK?

the irony. They have TfL posters with the right font across the entire route and then go and use UE4 default font on the station names. If this isn’t the most rivet thing ever

I have said my piece on the topic of Rivet, who, just as a note, are a company not a single 'guy', at some point (possibly in the one that were locked) and honestly I do think this route shouts Rivet, but I don't actually care who made it, there are errors with it and these need correcting.

You can definitely see rivet have had a hand in it. I know it's a company just like dtg, but I see post after post referring to rivet as him. It's a personal attack.
I've called out dtg many times, as a company. I've never aimed it at a individual employee, well I don't think so anyway.
As I've said previously, dtg have the final say on the product.
As a company they could have stepped in at any time. And made it better.

On a positive note. I intend to go home after work and have a play on wcml. I'm quite looking forward to it I must say.
    Then on to San bernardino.
It's a good thing I've moved premises recently and haven't built an office yet, otherwise no work would have got done today!

Well I for one am disappointed.

This thread told me that the lack of branding would break immersion but I've barely noticed it!

This thread told me that the timetable would break immersion but I've happily played what I'm given!

This thread told me that I would be disappointed that I couldn't drive to Rugby, Birmingham or Fort William but I'm not!

I would like to thank those who freely offered consumer advice on what we should or shouldn't do with our money. A career at Which? surely awaits.

Seriously though, the route is not without issues but I have been enjoying it so far.

Right, I'm off to investigate why there's no hot water in the house. I think the immersion is broken...

I guess the moral of the story is... take opinions with a pinch of salt. And don't always assume that because someone says it is, it actually is.

So, it seems like Rivet participated in the dev of the scenery, lighting, Class 350 and the timetable, that can explain the horrible scenery and the empty timetable, since Rivet always mess up with scenery and timetable. While 390 are dev by DTG, which has a higher quality and better physics.

WCMLS could be and should be the flagship of modern UK route, with a busy timetable like BML or SEHS, however, what we received is a broken product with horrible scenery, empty timetable, and many other issues and bugs. They even said they are happy to see the current nighttime lighting and currently they can do nothing about timetable. In my opinion, this level of product should not be released at all.

It reminds me of the FCL, which also has serious scenery and timetable issues, and we are still waiting the levenmouth link and the timetable update promised by Rivet. Fortunately, some members in this fourm spent their own time and efforts making a competely new timetable and a major enhancement pack for FCL, which significantly improved its gameplay experience. I don't know if they would make a new timetable and an enhancement pack for WCMLS, but it's developers' responsibilty to improve their products and they can't just sit and wait some enthusiasts to clean up the mess they made.

Maybe DTG and Rivet would gradually improve it like what Skyhook have done to MML, but only time can tell us what would happen.

But by buying TSW5, and *shock horror* enjoying it, you've personally ensured that DTG have free reign to produce products that are actually fun to play by some proportion of people, now and forever!

I hope you can reflect on what you have done

If you’re willing to accept a substandard route that barely meets the standards of a TSW2 route, then be my guest. DTG probably love customers like you because they can take your money with half the effort.
