    Hey guys

    Following the Train Sim World 5 announcement, I have decided to update and spice up my existing British signalling Enhancement Pack mod, ready for its release.

    I have gave the incandescent signals a brand new lens cover visuals, which gives the 3D effect of there being a bulb inside. It also spreads the light out in a realistic way.

    All signals, including incandescent, LED and VMS have had their aspect colours updated, so that they’re more accurate to how they look in real life.

    As per the previous mod, this also significantly increases the rendering distance of the aspects. So you’ll be able to see them from much further away, particularly at night. They are also a lot brighter compared to the vanilla visuals.

    I aim to release this on/or very close to release date of TSW 5, should there be no compatibility and/or complications. : .

    I still think red / yellow are a little too close for some to distinguish. Consider lowering green and blue values on the red signal to make a more saturated red, as all the post processing stuff and autoexposure will shift all colours towards white (middle of colour circle).

    Hello, will be looking forward to this. I would agree could the red and amber be made more of a stark contrast.
    I am colour blind so not an ideal test case but it seems many people have trouble distinguishing between the two particularly at a distance.

    What's also interesting is that some of us can't see the amber whereas others can't see the red.
    It's all very curious. I think it's called "science" :)

    We're all victims of our own perception of the world. No object has a physical "colour" inherently. All a matter of absorption/resorption of the electromagnetic spectrum, light source and the eye of the beholder.

    Hi. I’ll have a go at this and see if it makes any visual difference in game. If it does, I’ll post of screenshot in here. Red in particular is quite tricky to get right, as the RGB values you have to play around with. It doesn’t always turn out how you want to, due to the in game sun and exposure shifting the colours slightly.

    A good way to tell the difference is to remember that red is brown, amber is yellow and green is white

    (Note: Colour blindness in place, actual results may vary)

    Hey guys. So it seems brighter aspects = more white in the middle of the LEDs, which I cannot do anything about unfortunately. I think its because white aids the emissive/brightness in game.

    I have, however, adjusted the green LED aspects, so its more of a green colour instead of a teal/blueish colour. I'll continue to try and work on the other aspect colours, whilst still trying to maintain a realistic visual.

    For the red LED signals, I've now added more saturation to it, so it looks less orange during the day. I think this is the best I'll be able to do, without making it look purple/pinkish.

    For the yellow LED signals, I've added slightly more saturation to the colours, so it looks less white/pale.

    I really rate your work, most impressive LM.
    The yellow in the bulbs works great, easily distinguisable, it's just the yellow LEDs that confuse me sometimes. If I see them next to red it's obviously yellow but seeing them in isolation I can't quite figure it out. Maybe I need my eyes checked out though.

    Thanks for the comment. Hopefully this version of the mod will make it easier to distinguish between red and yellow LED signals. Ambient in game lighting has quite a big effect on visuals, so I think I’ve done the best I could under these circumstances :)

    Definitely gets harder to see when it's heading towards sunrise/sunset and the game is tinting the whole world. Shame there's no way to exclude the lights from the tinting.

    The strong ambient tinting at dusk / dawn will be lesser when lowering Sky Quality to Medium or lower.

    Installed and seems to be OK, although I jumped into Frankfurt-Fulda after install :p it's helped massively on this route too though.

    I’ve tried a few UK routes, and the signal lights are looking very good, clear and easy to read, colours distinctive. Top notch job.

    Thanks for the comments. No plans for a WCML South E.P as of yet. Seeing as the route has just released, it wouldn’t be a good idea to start immediately as there are no doubt multiple patches and fixes which are still yet to come through by DTG.

    I’ll give it some time before I make any decisions :)
