For ships and giggles. Trying to catch Arapima on 3lb & 6lb test. 1st attempt, lost behind land mass. 2nd attempt, ran line out. 3rd attempt, lost behind land mass. Need ta try on other side of lake. Has anybody else given it a try?
That’s great. Haven’t tried 3 lb but I did have on 10 fishing with tremor shad lure and locked up on one. Fought it for 20 mins and it got off line. Had it hit the low ! A little too much. Couldn’t get the drag much over 12. Realized I had bass line on and forgot to change it.
Attempt #4 1:15 minutes in line snap. Low end drag was my issue. One too many times. :/ Run me out ta 217yards half a dozen times. Never came close to shore. Which I believe will be a whole other issue. Gonna keep trying.
Yeah knew the minute I got the strike. Was like yeah forgot to change the line. I’ll give it a go see if I could land it. I trapped it in the corner and was fortunate it never ran off. You have no play though and if it hits ! In either direction too many times you will lose it.
I know 50-60lbs redtails on 8lbs is a go. Takes atbout 10-20 minutes. I moved up to 10lbs. test. Hooked a few. No luck as if yet. Best was 1.5 hours, never came to shore. I'm wondering about the tension bar. Could it be set for time in danger zone or how many times you are in it. I need to ask Dovetail next stream. Also had the Arapiama hit the swimbait- crappie
I think if they tune down the fish fight times which they said they were working on then there will be better chance to get some of these monsters on light gear
I did manage a 179lbs Arapiama on 8lbs test. I posted in Dovetail fishing sim world and club Euro Fishing for xbox. Not sure how to share it here yet. :/ Gonna try for a boss but need one on north west side of lake, south side to sketchy. FYI- you don't have to reel the tremor shad in. It constantly get strikes sitting on the lake bed. But you probably know that.
Outstanding. I didn’t try leaving shad alone since update. Used to get Wels catfish by doing that in Spain.
I finally managed a 544.11lb Arapiama on 3lb test. How r making out with the Muskies? That has to be much harder. As the run so fast.
I ended up getting a 47 lb on boulder took me 3 tries and 20 minutes each time. The hardest part is the strike I have my drag now on 1 then I slowly adjust then as they get close you have to be real careful due to the head shake. Lost 2 right at the boat but wow what a fight. Had to only chase one down with the trolling motor
Thanks. Have you got a black pacu on light line? They break off right at the end. They take off and bolt all over the lake they are something
