With the release of TSW4 we've lost that feature. It didn't returned with the release of TSW5. Why was it removed and when will come back? An answer from DTG would be nice.
FWIW the feature is actually still there in the console version, if you plug in a keyboard and hold shift the fast camera still exists. What they removed is the controller functionality (which means about 90% of console users can’t use it).
I think it is almost 100 %. And did you tried it with a keyboard on console?Because some people here told the same about the Alerter functionality of the AC44. And the result was the opposite.
A keyboard for console play is just too cumbersome. The controller is all we should need. Some additional ‘shift’ functions could be added to the controller, including fast camera (which should be easily implementable) and bell on/off for American freight trains.
Absolutely 100% in agreement, fast camera and bell should be there somewhere, just like back in the day. Been asking for this for years. You can see where it got me.

I don't understand the reason for the removal. Especially pressing the left stick has no function in classic mode now.
It is something we've flagged to the team as a highly-requested improvement - at the moment, our focus is on high-severity issues (crashes, performance, etc.), but we have asked the team to look at it after we've looked through those. (not a promise, no idea how complicated it is to implement).
Not really. To be honest. You try acknowledging sifa pzb and every other thing that comes with the German.safety systems on a controller using all the shift adaptations. So much easier and quicker with a keyboard. Two tone horn usage space and N key. So what's the shift equivalent of it. Fast camera (8) shift key (on the keyboard) and up cursor key or the directional button on your controller. I'll just find that on the controller to do .......oh wait, camera 1 through to 3 1 2 3 on the keyboard..... none of this shift up and hit the down.key three times...... kind of reminds memof the cheat code section on Gamesmaster.... lol. Keyboard is so much better. Give it a go...... I guarantee you won't go back to using just a controller. Hentis
It was removed from the default control scheme when TSW2 released - I am not aware of TSW3 or 4 having it, let alone TSW5.
Fast moving external camera on consoles - controller layout and history: Pressing and moving left stick: TSW, TSW2020, TSW3 Hold L2 Button and move left stick: TSW2 No external camera: TSW4 and TSW5 I personally prefered the TSW2 version. It was more comfortable.
