Well, today is the day for those of us didn't want buy wcml get TSW5 core for free. I will download it at least, but not sure to transfer my progress just yet as I don't think I can import my progress back on to TSW4 if 5 turns out to be a nightmare. Anybody know if you can back port progress?

I'm grabbing WCML later on, plus the Pendolino. Should I get the free base version first, add in my existing DLCs, then WCML? Not sure if there's a better way of doing it ...

Generally there was a point you would shut off if running on fall power, then a point to start to 'rub', the very first step of light braking. There is a 'brake min' level on the power handle of these although it doesn't have much affect in game so I was going lightly into about 15% brake. The next braking point was then up to 50% to lower your speed, once you were happy you were under control and slowing down well it was down and up, trying not to go above 50%, up to your stopping point. In real life I guess this can be a little different between different trains / lengths etc, so relying on feeling and how your running brake test went.

The feedback I have is that where I live needs to be modelled correctly. I live in the flats next to Apsley station and it looks horrible ;) Only joking.

The actual feedback I have is that I get fuzzy lines at the bottom of the cab window on the 350, haven't tried any of the other trains on this line, but this fuzziness can be quite distracting.

Also noticed on the map that the southbound overground line at Harrow and Wealdstone where the points meet the Bakerloo line sidings is not attached to anything.

It doesn't seem a lot of our feedback was really acknowledged recently. Anyone have the same feeling? Tbh lots of things on their I didn't even notice ahaha. But again It is a Rivet made route so are we going to get any Major changed, like the timetable and that.
Also the 390 sounds not happy the fact a modder can get them spot on and yet whoever made sounds for the 390 have basically used fake ones. Absolute disgrace tbh, for again as I repeat myself for a most requested route and train to Muck them both up is just an embarrassment. First Class end wrong end, doesn't seem to be acknowledged by DTG? I mean speaking to others who are passionate very unlikely we are going to see many major changed in the future, quite frankly not good enough.
I speak from Passion for this route and the more I have played it, the more I have realised what is wrong. As someone said to me the whole route should be scrapped and remade and in all honesty people modders to do it who can make the route immaculate and DTG to pay them. Shame I am on PS5 and not on PC.

Back to the 390, anyone watched the Modded 390 sounds and that? I mean I was mind blown that is how a 390 should sound! He did it entirely for free. We are getting bent over here quite frankly. It drives very well but the sounds just ain't their.

Oh so DTG or whoever got the sound wrong as well? Might be quicker to list what they got right and work backwards. If another company or companies were involved, then on a shear business perspective whoever is subcontracted to do the work, it will usually be down to the subcontractor to carry out any amendments. However, if DTG signed off on it then it becomes DTG problem and they have to find the time, money and resources to put it right. Probably all of this and more is going on behind the scenes while we wonder when is wcml going to get fixed? I think DTG should make a train simulator making company simulator, I bet we wouldn't play that for long, be too much of a headache.

I hope it is all going on behind the scenes. Thing is we don't know and I am just stating my opinion at end of the day. Just saying the Route as a Whole ain't good enough. I shut up now

Not just for WCML but it would help transparency if DTG were to maintain a list of known issues from reported bugs (stickied and locked for their edit only) which would increase customer confidence a bit. For example, the CTD’s which appear to be triggered by using the 2D map - a bit of acknowledgement goes a long way.

On the 390 DTG did say prior to release that the 390 sounds were fictional, at least when actually running. The static & move off sounds are actually quite accurate.

Accuracy wise it could definitely use some work for running sounds & there is the very obvious looping under 40mph.

So they didn't need entirely accurate sounds to make a 390, but can't do US locos because of that very same stated reason?
    Interesting.

Yes the Static and move off are. What I am pointing out is that we should be getting realistic sounds, Buy it off the modders, fed up of getting fictional sounds. Its like ughhhh.

Not taking the way the fact the 390 is really fun to drive cause it is, way more than the Azuma just be nice to get realistic sounds for such a requested train.

Its a lot easier for DTG to get on a 390 or be around them in general, even if they can’t setup recording equipment. Essentially it’s easier for them to get close to the real sounds (even if they still fall short).

For US stuff it’s practically impossible for them to access or get near, so any faking of sounds becomes harder for them to come up with. Thats why Matt has made repeated calls for anyone that can help to get in touch.

Well done, we got a train. I ain't going to argue with you about it. I can't stand here and talk to people who like to play with unrealistic sounds.

Agreed, but I’ve always had the approach that where they can’t get the real thing, to at least give us good quality sounds.

That’s why I just want the looping addressed.

Just to address the getting off modders subject, they sure could do that, but then you need to think about where the modder got it from & weather it’s compatible with how DTG implement things.

If a modder has ripped off AP sounds, then boom huge problem for DTG.

A modder won’t have tested for console compat, so what happens when DTG put it on Xbox & it doesn’t work their their audio setup?

I love my PS5 & I love my Xbox for things, but when it comes to changing the way a developer has done something, you just need to buy a PC.

If TSC released on console (hypothetical situation here), I’d never buy it, because I depend on third party software to make it enjoyable.

The reason I got into TSW on console is because my PC is full of games that I’ve got modded & manipulated to high heaven, sometimes it becomes impossible to enjoy the game because something I’ve changed in the game files has broken & it’s ALOT of back and forth to resolve it.

I don’t agree with a lot of things DTG do in TSW, but at least it’s simple in comparison to the amount of things I’d be changing on the PC version.

Yes ofc, but my argument is that Modder's have been able to do the sounds really well. Have you managed to watch the 390 Sound mod video for TSW?

Ahhh okay thanks for that explanation mate since you edited. Shame they can't buy the AP Sounds, assuming it's AP Ripping them off?

It would be a good idea to have a list of known bugs and then players look through the list, but it would be a long list. And if there was such a list DTG couldn't sweep it under the carpet and it would highlight all the problems and faults with TSW in general and it would impact DTG and maybe players who think TSW is perfect, could damage product image.

Maybe if DTG did a update sheet of the actual bugs they are working on at the moment? And players can look at that and maybe DTG could give a completion date on bug fixes? Might be asking a bit much with the date?

As i said, we don’t know how the modder went about the sound gathering, which is the issue there. DTG aren’t alone in just not implementing user mods to their core, it’s an industry wide thing that takes place for a 100 different reasons.

As for why DTG seem to have stopped using AP, I’m gonna guess it’s a cost issue. But it’s also worth noting that AP do use artistic license with their packs too. They use real sounds yes, but some of them are often over-exaggerated for the benefit of the player experience (ie traction motors being more audible in cab than IRL).

Guess we're gonna disagree on that one.
I'd rather have close than none.
Now if it played the "Benny Hill" theme instead of sounding anything like a train, then I might agree. But if it's "close" then that's good enough for me.
It's admittedly a game at the end of the day.
They aren't training engineers on it.

Anyone else on Xbox Series X having an issue with textures when driving the 710? They keep popping between high def and looking like clay.

I saw yesterday release was at 1800UTC today which is actually 1900BST. So 19 minutes ago.
Found the starter pack by searching: "Train start".

Finally got the 710 layer today. I was playing the Watford DC lines earlier, and bloody hell... how that lighting made it into the game I'll never know. The DC line tunnels out of Euston the cab was lit up... The stations on the LU section are a literal copy and paste of the Bakerloo Line from 2021 with no updates to accommodate the Overground route. I come across only 1 other Overground service in the opposite direction...

Definitely not DTGs work, that is for sure. If this was DTGs work I know for sure the standard would be a lot higher. Hopefully DTG may able to be confirm that any further improvements to the route will be done in house by their own team? It's the only possible way to salvage every issue and bring it upto the standard this route deserves. It definitely has huge potential, but does need some desperate going over...

A brand new route that has only launched needs a remastered version of it, I am just shaking my head at this point, unreal! In regards to DTG jumping in to save the day, that takes time, money and resources that they may not have and whoever built it or created parts of it are subcontracted to do so and it might be down to them to fix it. Again, should not have launched this!

DTG is to blame about it, they recycled all Parts from the Bakerloo Line, the Same they did with Lirr2 and New York Trenton

Top priority fix for me is saloon lighting for the 350s at night. Also...has anyone noticed large, dark squares covering the LU roundels on the Bakerloo stations?

Timetable aside and destination names which have been addressed by DTG.

Another thing that I’ve noticed is the lighting on both locos. The locos themselves are fantastic to drive. Especially the 390. But the locos have really strange light shading in certain conditions. Especially the 350 where I don’t think the bogies have been shaded which means they look really bright when it’s dark.

The Overground timetable needs a complete rethink.

At the moment at first time of playing on my Series X, I only passed one other train on the run from Euston to Watford, the route itself was a nice drive but it's just the timetable.

For some reason a train timed just after midnight was showing on the P.I.S. as being over ten hours late, I couldn't find it one the route so I could remove it fully, but it seems like trains leave one end every twenty minutes and repeat this an hour and a half later at the other end.

I am liking the route overall but just want a more consistent Overground timetable

I would like to comment more on this route but every time I try to drive in or out of Euston the game crashes.. PS4.

    Very poor indeed.

Got the Gamepass version on the Xbox and just got a couple of thoughts. I only managed to get one of the ECS runs from Bletchley to Tring done and although I had a tree in my face, this section scenically seems alright, though there were no AI to be seen, at about 07:30 on the WCML this just seems mental to me. As a note I haven't yet got round to getting the the 390, so assume that would add some to the run but it did seem very quiet, no freight either.

I want to reserve actual judgement for when I get the 390 and manage a full run, so not until tomorrow now.

Yeah the 390 will change a lot really. The top end of the route, without the 390, would technically be the quietest section!

I just did a 7:43 Euston to MK 390 run and passed about 30 ai, not including static stuff, and had some nice parallel runs alongside the 350’s!

I don’t see it happening, I think it’s a very very resource heavy route and I’m concerned anything like that would tip it over the edge.

I’d love a full timetable but I think it’s easier said than done. If we had a full 350/Pendolino timetable I’d be more than happy.

This will probably be an unpopular statement, but personally I would have sacrificed the underground services for the proper overground timetable. I do wonder if there wasn't a technical reason for the lack of overground and underground services, however there are points where there aren't large gaps in the overground service, then suddenly there is one. I hope they just ran out of time.

What's really weird and odd is the TFL map signage isn't there either I actually like seeing this on the route plus the 710 just says "train to Euston" inside the carriages with only next stop signage on the exterior of the train.
.also no pis boards on some platforms at Watford junction

Biggest downfall for me too right now is timetable & livery branding and it's weird they've removed the TFL map signage at stations

I just was watching random videos of the WCML which prompted me to do some searching, The 377/2s aren't even used on the WCML anymore, not since the 377/7s were built it seems like. Which then adds to the bizarre decisions for the stock included, as far as I'm aware a 387 and 377/7 use the same bodyshell so why didn't DTG model an accurate variant for the time period, or DTG have just not worried about the 377s which barely add anything and actually do the 350 variants which would've felt more impactful.
