This is me just venting some frustrations so if you're going to be all smart and say 'theres a thread already' or 'this isnt the right place to post' then scroll on have a nice day. Having just had a little look through the base routes and what not. Ive noticed that on WCML we got a base train that runs for about 10 miles before turning round and exiting the route. I was under the impression that they would reinstate the Milton Keynes Southern services like a few years back but that would just be too much work for DTG. We also had to pay extra for the regular runner on the route (390), and 'coincidence' just happens that the 377 was already made twice in TSW. Another classic repaint and new interior job rather than giving us something new from the ground up. Players also have to pay extra for a green version of TSW4 Deluxe's BR193 to only get a handful of services and no current layering to other routes. And in fairness the 411 is actually pretty decent from the first look i took. Adding on further they call this new game ready when half the DLC isnt ready for TSW5 but does that matter? Not really because they took our money for it all back in TSW 2, 3 and 4. I find it so disappointing that the quality and neglect from DTG towards their work and if it doesnt change theyll be knocked off by another company soon enough.
I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but we haven’t had 2 new trains in a route for a long time now. Personally I wouldn’t have expected the 390 & 350 to both be included. The FLX Vectron is certainly a point of contention for me though, as I’ve said elsewhere, if they didn’t bundle this in with deluxe versions, I think you’d have seen a lot more criticism for a £12.99 loco reskin that only has 6 services on one route. Unfortunately Skyhook seem to have set that standard with the £12.99 wagon packs & DTG have followed suit on account of the Talbot coaches.
I think the 193 and 390 shouldnt have been the deluxe loco selection. Both shouldve been included. Even after paying for the 390 i see a total neglect to the timetable for actual playable services. Its all down to a poor choice of what theyre charging for, and the repetition or lack of quality, but theyll never change it.
The 377 isn't just a repaint and reskin. It had to be remade because it's an ac loco, not a dc loco this time around. That means having to add the pantograph, making all the changes required to make it a 377/2 and changing the physics to represent ac physics. It's not a 5 minute job
The FlixTrain 193 was a big disappointment for me from last game. I was genuinely hyped that DTG was adding the vectron in TSW4 finally... and now we get.. the same vectron and some wagons, GRANTED, they're new wagons. But still feels Hella underwhelming.
Not only that, the Flix Vectron has bugs and sound glitches that the Railpool version does not suffer from.
That's always a concern through each TSW game. It feels like everytime something is re-released, it becomes more and more degraded.
