Importing Player Profiles Between Different Versions Of Tsw For Trophy Acquisition

Hi all,

As TSW5 has been released, and I'm still stuck playing TSW2 to acquire the final "operate any train for 10,000 miles trophy" for the platinum, I am curious if I can import my existing TSW2 profile to TSW5 (actually, I've already done this), continue playing there until I reach 10,000 driven miles, then import that profile back to TSW2 to unlock the trophy?

Anyone knows whether this is possible? Will the trophy unlock? Is it even possible to import a profile from TSW5 back to TSW2? I really want to play TSW5 with all the upgrades, but I still have about 4,000 miles left to do for the trophy to unlock. That's probably 100+ hours of gameplay depending on what routes and trains are being operated. With TSW5 now released, the thought of having to still play TSW2 is somewhat depressing...lol.

No, you can't take your profile backwards, sorry.

If all you want is the 10k miles trophy then find a route with a long fast section, e.g. Great Western Express, or LGV, get a train up to speed, save the game, time how long it takes to reach the inevitable speed reductions, then just reload the save and set a timer to do it again. Yes, it's not how to play the game properly, but if that's the only trophy you are after it's the easiest way.

Might be worth checking if driving the loops on the training centre add to the trophy mileage. You may be able to just leave a train running!

 

According to richtayls, it's not possible to import profile backwards, meaning I can't go from TSW5 back to TSW2 :-/ And there is no training center in TSW2.

 

LGV was preferred method for the 10k trophy too.

Haven't played LGV yet, but have cleared pretty much entire GWR on TSW2020. I assume LGV has longer max speed? Btw, isn't it possible to take ICE 3 on Koln - Aachen, not engage the PZB or LZB, just max the thing up to 330km/h and ignore the speed restrictions?
