Dovetail has done a fantastic job representing American railroads in both TSW and TS. However, there has been no Kansas City Southern (KCS) content created at all. I propose for Train Sim World a KCS route, either their Vicksburg or Shreveport Subdivisions.The Shreveport Subdivision runs from the sprawling main terminal in Shreveport, Louisiana to Heavener, Oklahoma. This line features steep grades, rugged and remote terrain, and busy yards and junctions. There are many interesting trains that run on this line, from long grain and coal trains, to intermodals , to export oil trains bound for Mexico. It's hard to find a more defining route for KCS. The Vicksburg Subdivision runs from the same terminal in Shreveport to Meridian, Mississippi. This line doesn't feature the grades of the Shreveport Sub, but has hilly terrain, fast speeds, and runs through some very unique scenery. There are many scenes where the snappy "Southern Belle" clad locomotives are seen running through swamps, across bayous, and past cypress trees. Wooden trestles are also a common sight. This line is also a critical link in the US rail network, as it is the shortest route between the Southwest and Southeast. As such, this line sees high-priority intermodal trains that travel cross-country from ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California to Atlanta, Georgia and beyond. Despite the fast intermodals, the line also sees a plethora of local freights that serve the many businesses and small towns along the route. What makes both of these routes unique are the scenery and the states they run through, such as Louisiana. This would make either route a standout in Dovetail's collection. Another reason for its creation is that Dovetail could reuse all of the locomotives and freight cars that were featured in CSX Heavy Haul. The AC4400CW, GP38-2, and GP40-2 are common KCS power and could feature two paint schemes like in CSX Heavy Haul: KCS's gray and "Southern Belle" schemes. However Dovetail could also create a new locomotive for TSW, such as an EMD SD70ACe or EMD SD70MAC in both of the aforementioned schemes. If any of the developers read this route suggestion, I railfan the KCS frequently and can provide photos, video, sound recordings, track charts, and most of the necessary information to accurately replicate this route. This would be awesome. I think that the reason that we never see KCS releases from DTG is that they cannot acquire the licenses. Maybe if the editor tools are ever released the community might create a KCS line. We already have the AC4400CW, SD40-2, GP38-2, and GP40-2 from Heavy Haul that could be used if they ever allow us to add new liveries without changing the current engine for other routes.
