PlayStation I'll Stick To Tsw4

Having upgraded to TSW5 I'll be going back to TSW4. The graphics on 5 have gone backwards and you sit far too close to the window in the cab. It needs a lot of work. Just glad I didn't pay for it.

 

To me it just looks exactly like TSW4, so if you aren't interested in the 5 only routes, it's definitely a legitimate option.

 

The graphics look exactly the same as TSW4 with a noticeable improvement on track shadows on my PS5

 

This is really subjective and you’ve given no example, what train?

 

I got TSW5 cause it was on gamepass otherwise I probably wouldn't of got it

 

What about ballast shadows? I hear they look pretty bad in terms of pop in..

 

Not on PS5. I've seen that as well on the stream on PC on the San Bernardino route but on PS5 I did not have that problem. Maybe it's time for you to switch to PS5

 

A good example would be the class 465 or 710.

 

I can't say I've noticed worse graphics, it looks pretty much the same. I haven't noticed any difference in the position of the cab view either. I haven't driven the 465 recently though. But I haven't in the other stock including the 710 unless I'm going mad!

 

Graphically it’s the same as the others, still abit washed out for my liking, but certainly hasn’t changed.

I have noticed that the BR411 looks a lot better than the ICE1 & 3, I wonder if they used a different texturing process? The white on the others looks very artificial in comparison.

Regarding FOV, I still maintain we need a slider, as above it’s very subjective when it comes to driver position, but again it’s not worse than TSW4.

 

The graphics have not got worse.

 

My problem is that with PS5 on the Frankfurt route it is impossible to play. It crashes and I have to save the game everytime. It’s so annoying,

 

Op is presumably talking about TSW 5 core trains, surely if he had a problem with the 465 or 710 train he would’ve brought it up ages ago? The only train he could be talking about is the 350

 

Are you using creator liveries? If yes try unsubscribing. I've unsubscribed to all my liveries before switching to TSW5 and I did not yet have any crashes in TSW5 on any route.

 

Thanks mate!!! Now it doesn't seem to crash ( will see it ) , but the performance in Frankfurt HBF with a ps5 is desperate.

 

the starter pack is free so there’s literally no reason to complain

 

I got the free starter version of tsw 5 so far ive just started to download dlc i already have tested sand patch and doing training. Center tutorials the graphics to me seem a tad better ,camera seems to pan smoother ,the toutorials also are better they more detailed instructions and info etc ,the map ok at least now can see the stops and towns listed etc .my 1 complaint is the main menus UI is bad hard to tell which one youve selected .

 

as for content for now i will just download some of my favorite already owned dlc to get tsw 5 features ..will do all my US routes first ..still have to wait for HSC cane creek Clinchfield Boston Providence and CN Oakville to show after the current issue with microsoft is resolved..im playing on series X ..i just got a PS5 but havent set up a PS account just yet so want to get free version of TSW 5 to test it on PS5 vs my X box series X i plan to buy some TSW5 routes later San Bernadino. Will be first then Boston Commuter when its released then WCML over Schapp when it releases
