With TSW5 officially launched only a few days ago, I was wondering if we are to expect a Roadmap for October or will this be offset until November? It would be nice to get back to the regular pattern of seeing one at the start of each month rather than the random hit and miss of recent months due to announcements and new game launch.
In the Dovetail live stream in August when they announced TSW5 they did say there would be a roadmap in October im sure i heard that
No idea, but DTG roadmaps suffer from quite a substantial Say-Do gap if we look back at TSW4, TSW3 TSW2 roadmaps and beyond. It may be helpful to instead view them as a DLC sales portal, and of course there's quite am established pattern now of DLC releases. In short, I'm not sure what function they could realistically fulfil or deliver..
I suspect there will be one but since TSW5 hotfixes is their priority now which is normal for any modern game release I'd say it would focus mainly on progress third parties have made and possibly some more info about coming patches and updates for the main game and editor. I really don't think we'll see anything new announced with all the upcoming routes shown in the direct. I would like to know why the decision was made to drop austria for the forseeable future since no announcements of new content was made. but I suppose we'll see that country come back somewhere in 2025.
Thanks guys. Roadmaps have become somewhat unpredictable lately. Really looking forward to seeing the progress on other projects announced.
Generally, Roadmaps start to dwindle between July and September, then pick back up in October. There's a little instability around January due to holidays, but then it is smooth sailing from February to June
Yes, there is an October Roadmap, where I assume we'll hear more about the DoveDirect announced routes, and those known, but not mentioned (Union Workshop/ Alan Thompson) routes.
Hopefully more info on the JT route / loco DLC. I'm also guessing (wildly!) the GWE Remaster will be sometime in second half of October.
Not sure I'll ever get an answer, but I'd like to know why the July roadmap showed what we now know to be the TSW5 content in the 3-6 months category. Was that a deliberate sleight of hand to make people think there wouldn't be a TSW5 in September (and if so, how can we ever trust what DTG says on timings)? Or was the release date moved up after the July roadmap (and if so, why, given how clearly rushed and unfinished WCMLS is)?
I really want an informative roadmap with more than we already know about future releases. Let’s hope they’ll talk briefly about TSW5, we had enough articles about it, I wish we’ll have more informations about GWE remastered and the Class 104.
A roadmap would be cool. A roadmap including the Alan Thompson Sim route reveal, and maybe some new US content would be even better.
The DLC upcoming was far more interesting to me than the routes released for TSW5, apart from maybe the Frankfurt route. I am looking forward to what is coming, especially the GWE remaster and the WCML over Shap. I'm interested to see what exactly the ATS route will be. I for one am looking forward to the October roadmap. Especially after the disappointing WCMLS timetable.
Oh yes, please! My heart hurts every time I see a Railjet from my window and knowing, that there's no news on Austria in Tsw... DTG, please don't give up Austria - Give this little Shepherd and all other Austria-Fans their ÖBB-trains! (I would pay whatever it costs!)
Hopefully we hear that DTG are committed to improving the WCML, given how it's the lowest rated route on steam atm
Looking forward to the first TSW5 road map. Hopefully more news on the upcoming GWR remaster, ATS, and JTs WCML! Exciting stuff.
I don’t just look forward to the October roadmap, I look forward to the monthly roadmap. If DTG changes the roadmap to a semi-annual release, the release will be “epic”.
I suspect we will hear about WCML improvements they are working on, possibly more info on the MBTA route that is next up and the Leven branch upgrade. Also third party info as JT route looks like it is on the way shortly too.
