    It would be more intuitive if the 'head out view' key for the right side was right arrow instead of left arrow.

    I agree, but I would also like to have the feature that was put in the M9 for LIRR where you could walk to the window and press e to look out.

    No response even if it will be fixed, let alone when. There has been no official acknowledgement of this issue from DTG whatsoever, despite ample opportunity over multiple threads to do so. The fact that they are aware of the problem but aren't saying anything is frustrating, and perhaps also setting up Series S owners for greater disappointment.

    Ok so, I found another weird issue where right now I'm driving the MP36 to SB downtown right, and for some reason my fps just tanks down to 5-10 fps for no reason, I mean sure i have a laptop version of a 2050 of 4gb as well as 8gb of ddr5 ram (Its decent for the game) but what makes this performance so weird is that, the moment I go below 4 MPH, the fps goes back up. Then when I start moving again above 4MPH or so, the fps tanks again. So Idk wtf is up with that issue, anyone else experiencing this?

    BNSF R-CAL6011 that starts at 6:55am is not completable.....

    You get instructed to go around a wye, with its stop marker behind a fence and guess what.....

    The jet fighters doing the fly by over the stadium were followed by dozens of flying cars like you see in Blade Runner movie's.
    Also the clouds are beautiful but the animation is transitioning like a time lapse, very quickly perhaps 200% quicker than real life.

    All the new routes on pc use between 10.5 and 16.5 GB ram.
    If you have 8gb as stated; windows will use your hard drive,M2 , SSD to work on to make up for the lack of physical ram.
    The fix is more ram .
    After running the WCML for three hours it leaked it's way to 22gb ram on my pc today.

    Hoping to upgrade the ram in the future but I found a fix for when it happens, I simply save where I'm at, then exit to the menu and rejoin back to where I left off, the fps doesn't tank when I go above 6mph anymore. That's pretty much the temporary fix for when that happens, I would post a video showcasing it, but threads don't allow it so womp lol, but thank you tho

    It's what they recommend the console players to do.
    Plenty on the forum can help out with Tsw, almost anything has a solution.
    There's some very knowledgeable people on here.

    Just done my first full run on this route and have to say DTG have done an excellent job.A few bugs here and there....The cars crossing in front of and through my train is particularly annoying ...but overall a very nice route and great that you can now drive AVL to San Berdeino and then up the Cajon Pass,all linked (almost) seamlessly together.

    All freight locomotives come from Cajon Pass route via layers, I believe, so they should sound the same as there.

    As a Series S owner, US player with every US (and Canadian) route, and a devoted freight nut, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I can understand and accept that limitations had to be put on Series S due to performance issues, but the lack of clarity from DTG is unacceptable. I never would have spent $40+ on a route missing half the content (or more really) that other players get.

    Fortunately my rant to Microsoft was accepted and I got a refund. This is the first time I’ve ever had to refund a TSW product. I hate to use the phrase “lied to” but that’s exactly how I felt when I read the statement that NateDogg quoted above. At the very least it was extremely deceptive of DTG to not reveal until Friday the severe limitations put on Series S for the SBD route.

    Since the severe limitations on Series S are likely to be the norm from now on, I see no reason for me to buy any further TSW routes. It’s too bad because I was really looking forward to the Santa Fe pack and the MBTA Worcester Route. DTG has lost a devoted customer.

    Yes it does not bode well for the future, but if DTG is specific and exact about what is included for Series S and what is not, then at least we can make an informed decision. The problem is that they don't know what works and what doesn't until after the game is released and people start playing it. Then they backtrack and try to justify whatever the situation is. This is what is currently happening for FTF.

    For SBD, what I suspect is going on is that it didn't work with all the layers, so rather than still trying to include as much as possible they just cut everything, accidentally also cancelling the weekend Speedway services because nobody at DTG is really paying attention, and they aren't too bothered about Series S in any case. Of course it is impossible to get the mastery tile now because that requires a Speedway service, which just proves that they cut without thinking.

    So what would be acceptable? To me obviously they should bring back the Speedway services because they never should have been cut in the first place. I also don't see why we can't have some CJP freight timetabled for the weekend only. No AI freight, no static stock, no SMH at all, no freight on weekdays. if my series S can run LBN with all the layers, SEHS with everything except railtours, and NYT full-fat timetable (except no spawning at Sunnyside), then I don't think this is too much to ask. Or as others have said, let us use the power of selectable layers to decide for ourselves. These decisions have supposedly been made so that the Series S would have "acceptable performance." But the situation with Series S right now is unacceptable also. We need to do better.

    Rescue At The Ranch scenario, which pops up fairly early in the Journey has a few issues.

    Might already have been mentioned but no speed limits are appearing on the HUD so you are getting 35 MPH and on the way back a 10 MPH turnout without any warning.

    Despite being a “Thunderbird” move to rescue a failure, my train still had passengers on board.

    In reality, wouldn’t the operator have just sent a loco to assist rather than the full consist?

    This end of the route seems to have several level crossings where the vehicle stoppers are not doing their job.

    Not the most exciting scenario, lots of low speed running (once the speed limits pop up) and I was holding it to around 30 just in case. Driving from the cab car is incredibly boring at the best of times but trundling along at reduced speed was not exciting my train sim juices.

    Edit: And very vague at the end about moving the failed train from SB to the Yard. Supposed to reverse and be propelled in iit would seem but this isn't noted in the briefing. Consequently I kept going straight on until I realised I was off path. So I reversed and headed back towards SB and the correct route but came up against a red signal that could not be tabbed past, or clear for my train. Pah.

    The Trials and Tribulations of SB 325.

    Wasted a lot of time on this two-part service from SB to LA that I nearly considered writing a separate post, but here's my story:

    Run #1: Game crashed after leaving SB, while starting to climb the overpass.
    Run #2: Game crashed again in virtually the same place.

    As there were a lot of wagons coming into rendering range ahead of me, I thought I'd reduce the load by uninstalling every custom US freight livery that might appear on the route.

    Run #3: Completed Part 1 of the service. Joy. Continued to Free Roam and started Part 2. Game crashed while 2 miles from LA Union.

    Luckily, I'd saved at Cal State, so loaded to try again...

    Run #4: Timetable for the service didn't load from save, so despite arriving at LA Union, the game didn't recognise it.
    Run #5: Same as #4. Gave up.
    This was on a PS5.

    When switching ends using the keyboard shortcut, like other routes it puts the camera under the map and you have to press 1 to go back in first person again. On this route you are taken to an infinitely colour changing floating car

    On Xbox Series X the Rotem cab car does not have the bell triggered while sounding the horn.

    Also, is it just me, or does the female voice-over for the route introduction and driver training scenarios almost sound like it was AI generated? Kind like those TikTok AI voice-overs? Just the way she pronounces certain words and places inflection into odd spots sounds off to my ears.

    Crossings don't work, traffic glitches into each other and frankly I've never seen a route with so many floating vehicles

    That’s correct. On the Rotem the horn does not trigger the bell. You have to turn it on manually

    So, I didn't have time to check it, but can anyone see the San Gabriel mountains from the route?

    I'm currently in Ontario just south of Ranch Cucamonga, and they are clearly visible.

    Do I understand it correctly that DTG is now going to allow Series S players like myself to have freight layers on the San Bernadino route? If so they’ve regained a customer and (a little bit) of my trust. Of course it remains to be be seen how well my S will actually perform once I try San Bernadino again with all the layers…

    Scenarios tell the player to drive around using Dimmed Headlights. This is more than embarassing. Is there nobody in the team with US railroading knowledge?

    Yeah, since when have you seen a US locomotive, except in passing another train, drive with dimmed headlights. The FRA and your Road Forman of Engines would have you on the carpet right away.

    If you turn off Guided Mode for Conductor Mode in settings, that should solve it. I'm able to open just the back 3 doors at Cal State. It keeps the instruction up to "Unlock Doors" but passengers still load on the 3 open cars and you're able to complete the task.

    BNSF-Y-CALCAl1 from the weekend schedule, starting 19:15... I'm unable to pass the first signla, as I'm getting 'check switches' response from the dispatcher. But the switches are set, and route to the next signal is available.

    Played a few full length runs on this route , overall very good experience . Morning around 8am is really busy at LA union station, which is good to see . Also driving between the highways is really unique! Liking some of the new passenger habits like eating ice cream , taking selfies! Also the air traffic is nice to see.

    On my return run to La Union I encountered a red signal , checked the switches and set them correctly , also contacted the signaller but the red didn’t clear . However on the map the signal showed as proceed restricted even though it was a double red . I proceeded and it all worked fine .

    Oh my God... It will took forever... How many more years you need to realise that sounds in TSW are pathetic?
    Why are Rotem's joint sounds made with stealth-tech again? Why do I have to put my ear to the speaker to hear them? Where are all other sounds on speeds below 15 MPH? Why don't they make any noticeable sound at all? And those that do you can hear only with a special device for capturing sounds that are inaudible to the human ear?
    Why are MP36 joint sounds are reused from plastic barrel again? it sounds like someone just knocks on a plastic barrel with a stick. Did you go to California to record yourself hitting a barrel with a stick? You couldn't record the actual metallic sound of the wheels?
    Why are the horn sounds quieter than any other sounds made by the locomotive again? Do you seriously think that the horn should not be audible to people outside?
    You just ruined my immersion into this route. Thank you!
    Maybe it's time to learn how to set the proper sound level and stop making it so "studio-like"?

    Regarding the horn, dtg probably don't want to destroy eardrums by making it really loud

    DTG has done well adding lots of freight in the sidings, however most of them are inaccessible for some reason, even though they seem fully constructed. And many of the ones I can get to, the freight cars are those “dummy” units that have air brakes that can’t be released no matter what you try. It makes it impossible to spawn your own engine to pick up and swap out freight cars like real US wayfreights.

    I don’t know why Dovetail made so many of the nice industrial sidings in SBD off limits, especially ones with freight cars close to the main line. They appear to me to be fully simulated, other than we can’t access them. There must be a good reason, I just can’t think of it.

    EDIT: thanks to Blacknred81, who explained to me what I was doing wrong with freight cars DTG put in the sidings: all their handbrakes are on!

    Did you check the hand brakes?

    I know I tried to pick up some cars from one of the sidings, and took me a sec to realized the handbrakes on all the cars were set.

    Mainly comes down to lack of time and budget. If dtg were to spend all their time to make each siding and yard fully detailed, accessible and playable with services, they would have to cut the mainline short because they used all their resources on nonmainline things

    Thing is though, some of them are LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT to the mainline, and they still cut them off, which makes no sense.

    I personally have non-stop stutters on this route, and this is the only route I have problems with (i7-13gen, 4080). Also don't like how the cars look, they give the route "cheap" appearance

    SB381. That's impossible to get from Montclair to Covina for 4,5 minutes. It took about 12 minutes on F125!

    is a known issue. Train 381 has a typo in the schedule for Covina - should be arrival at 6:54 but in game is listed as 6:45

    Bug: glitched out of train

    Conductor mode Oxnard - Speedway.

    Doing the last round of ticket checks, turned to go down the stairs, and --- BAM! Suddenly I'm in the highway grade crossing with angry drivers beeping at me, and the train disappearing off down ther tracks.

    WTF?

    Nearly an hour wasted, since the savegame does NOT work in conductor mode.
    (The coach was the Rotem cab car)

    That’s actually interesting to know. So basically you have to find a run you can do in the time available.
