I was thinking over the weekend how there doesn’t seem to be a concrete structure for how routes are previewed, sometimes there are questions that aren’t answered and aspects of the route that aren’t shown off which I find annoying so I thought for the benefit of everyone, mainly the developers and community managers (3rd parties included) a compiled list of aspects of the product and common questions that get asked and maybe asked in the future should be made. DTG Alex List of features and that should be shown off: 1. Journey mode 2. Scenarios 3. Timetable (including layers, AI and differences between Gen 9, PC & Gen 8) 4. Train(s) inside and out including sounds and features 5. Full route map 6. Night lighting List of questions that should come with prepared answers: 1. What year is the timetable from? 2. Has the timetable been fully represented? 3. Are the train sounds authentic? 4. Have neutral sections been simulated? (If applicable) 5. Do the trains have suspension? 6. Does it have a guard mode? 7. Any extra liveries included? 8. Will trains from x route appear as AI on this route and vice versa? 9. Will there be anything missing from the release build? 10. Any faults simulated? 11. Why this route? 12. Why is the route this length (if applicable) If there’s anything you think should be added to the list just say.
Good idea. I found the preview of the WCML a little odd. I the sense that they spent time showcasing the 710 (that doesn't come with the route) yet didn't touch the 1978 stock, 66 or the 377. Both of which, are included in the route as standard.
Welcome to the world of marketing. They always show you the good and the pretty, and never show you the bad and the ugly. It's not just DTG, it's everyone. A list like that should be given to the so-called "independent reviewers", if there are any. Buy the game or DLC yourself, to avoid the impression that your review is influenced by the fact you got it for free, and then review it with honesty. There are such reviewers for PC hardware on YT, but I don't recall seeing one for TSW.
I'm sure questions 1 through 6 were covered in the stream. And have been in the last few streams they have done. and the majority of those questions 1 through 12 were also asked and answered. As was the case in most streams. It just doesnt help if Somepeople dont want to listen what is being said. Or people wont watch the streams. Theres also a lot of info posted in the news pieces which are released either prior or around the time of release. Hentis
