made a post on TSW about this but since some may not see it there and since Clinchfield is a route in TSC i figured will do seperate threads ..heard that 40 miles or more of the Clinchfield CSX Blue ridge Kingsport subs is completely washed away in addition to several. Bridges ..some speculation if this line will ever be able to recover or will take very long time to fix

    Sadge.
Depends on the traffic levels and alternatives I suppose.
Is this route viable for future proofing: electric capable, double trackable (bridges, tunnels), ready for agile operations?

I suspect US railroading will face this challenge over the next decades and I expect to default, finally climbing out of the very extended 1800s and 1940s, "modern vintage".

traffic is all freight here in US freight is dominate over passenger train s CSX operates a few manifest freights daily plus unit coal grain and ethanol train s a day ..back in the Clinchfield days it was busier with coal traffic lots of coal mines used to be along that route still a few left ..but coal was the main reason for clinchfields existance

If DTG don't already have a route for this city the google maps they use are kept for so many years bridges was washed about cause they didn't lower the dam levels before the storm like what they do around houston texas.
