Mods will always exist even in the best of games. That's unavoidable

 

You are correct of course, but modders should enhance the game, not fix it. BIG difference.

 

Not trying to sound or come across all PC master race or anything but this is why I'm a PC gamer and PC games will always be better.

 

We do it as a spare time hobby thing, I do have a Paypal if you do want to support me but this is by no means something you HAVE to do.

I’m assuming, you just forgot to mention that the updated timetable will also reflect the WTT (47 or 48, depending on what year the timetable is based on) for the Bakerloo? Or are there no further plans for the Bakerloo?

 

Bakerloo trains are still mostly not done, I've got 201-206 in and finished so far, it's using 48 WTT. I'm just getting the 350s and 390s finished first, then doing the remainder of them.

One question, what is your PC configuration as the route runs so smooth on your video.
I believe it's more due to the video card, as I have a 6GB GTX 1660 Super which is probably no longer capable of working...

 

A GTX ..60 chip is only really good for HD gaming (probably maxed at 125% scaling), in case you want to play in 4K go for an RTX xx80 or xx90. You could check the Lossless Scaling app.

I've been playing TSW3 on my old 1050Ti in HD, with constant 75 FPS without trouble - that was vanilla engine.ini though. (My older GTX 970 also ran TSW2020 perfectly well. Back then I was not well informed and thought 1050 > 970 but actually it was a step back from 70 to 50 power, but had more VRAM and the "Ti" boost in turn.)

Try to run the game with "-dx12". While this will increase first time shader compiling stutter, consequent runs will be much smoother. Only caveat is occasional shadow flickering when the sun is standing low.
Edit: If you have a strong CPU, it might also be better NOT using DX12, as it will put more load on your GPU. So it depends.

6GB VRAM is... ok... but can result in the video card having to load/swap textures from slower DRAM eventually. (The texture setting in the game options has no effect at all, at least I could never see any difference.)

Make sure Sky Quality is below Ultra. Also the new routes are much more resource hungry than older ones, I had a three second freeze on San Bernardino - probably page file access, there's been strange reports of unplausible high RAM usage.

 

I have just watched the two videos. The route is totally transformed. The night run on the DC lines was very atmospheric. The traffic on the day time run already seems busier and it is good to see the 8 carriage class 350's.

I understood. My specs are, basically:

Ryzen 5 5600G
RAM 32GB DDR4 2666Mhz
HD SSD NVMe 1TB

I use the -dx12 command, and the graphics options are set to "High". The Wembley area is horrible, I constantly stutter when I walk through it, even though I know it is very busy with construction.

 

Exactly this! In my eyes mods should only need to be small improvements, if a route is already good it shouldn’t need community members going in FOR FREE to completely overhaul the scenery and timetable!

As per usual, all of you are cooking something amazing! Are you planning to fix the god awful type face used on the overground signs or are you waiting to see if that's updated by DTG/Rivet?

Already done Please bear in mind these videos are of something that is heavily WiP, a lot has already changed since I recorded the vids. All will be well when it’s ready for release.

 

I’ll be honest, I’m quite enjoying WCML as it is. The timetable is the worst thing about it for me. (I don’t live in the UK so I don’t know the real line that well).

The work you guys are doing is really next level though. I watched both videos last night and it was like watching a completely different route.

Can’t wait to see the end result.

 

Looking amazing great work by all of you. I must admit it makes me want to hold off driving on WCML until the EP is released.

Good to see Network Rail track side workers as they are the only valid reason to use the horns, and we all like a good Baar- - -Buur!
Would it be possible to add some old replaced sections of rail and crossings left track side?

It's very nice, but the windshield wiper is disurbingly silent. Pity most of the route was runj in rain and fog, so we can't actually see the upgrades. Perhaps next time turn off dynamic weather (or use God Mode to counteract it)?

 

Query: will the timetable include layers for the Aggregates and Petroleum freight packs?

 

Yes, noticed that. I do plan on doing another video, just unsure what service yet.

 

The freight will be prototypical, but I believe it is largely intermodal stuff.

 

I'm fascinated to know how much of an impact on performance adding a full LO service with have, that's a lot of trains to spawn on that 6 track section. It made me wonder whether DTG are looking at fixing WCML with two timetables (I've always thought "Weekday" and "Weekend" rather than "Full" and "Reduced" would be a better way of doing it for those with older PCs and Consoles but that's for another day.
The excellent BML with 700s stutters a little more than the original but that's because of the additional services. It's worth it for the realism and the chance to drive the 700 at 90mph.

 

Really looking forward to this - I'm guessing you'll need to wait and see what the DTG patch expected this week does to change the existing route (and if you need to make any adjustments to the enhancement pack as a result) before releasing?

 

As requested, a run with 2K11 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central. Just light clouds for this one, but a good amount of AI to show you what an amazing job Fawx has done

Really cool to see TSC style route revamp projects beeing done in TSW now... love it! But it´s sad, that is even needed. But this has always been the case with DTG. Why do you think there is a revamp on Railsim for basicly every German route released for TSC in the past 15 years?

 

There existed, I guess still exist, onderful German route upgrade mods made by a "Nick Hawk," but unfortunately those were for TSW 2 and have never been revised to work with later iterations.

 

Is this going to be an HST & IET mixed timetable for the ECML route?

Afternoon all.

Following on from SprattyHeath teaser yesterday, just a little something we've been working on that will come as part of this EP...



Based on the GWE MTU it features;

- custom livery with full weathering
- custom formation for use with Fawx’s (as yet unreleased) WCMLS timetable
- custom made 3D nameplate for 43062 John Armitt and,
- custom made upper headlight and forward facing camera.

 

I'm more hyped for this than anything on today's roadmap. Great work.

 

This is something dtg should have done a long time ago. I am way more hyped for the enhancement pack than I ever was for wcml, tsw5 even.
