So I downloaded the P42DC update pack from Railworks America which is now working. I still have the default engine sound equipped to it. How can I replace the built-in sound with the realistic GE7FDL16 prime mover sound? I tried copying and pasting the P42DC Empire Builder sounds over there to no avail. When I overwrote the default sounds on the Empire Builder P42DC with the Railworks America engine sound the GE7FDL16 replaced it with no problems. I must be doin something wrong.
Not sure if it's realistic but you could always use this enhancement pack - it'll give the loco and rollingstock new sounds, as well as an overhaul of the textures. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...cement-packs/i4116-miami-amtrak-super-pack-19
I'd suggest looking in the .bin file for the loco's and seeing how the sounds are called for and configured, editing the one that's *wrong* to suit.
There seem to be some instructions in thread .. . . Miami P42DC Sound and HEP Upgrade Pack https://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23131 Or is that a differen pack? I love the P42DC ( had a great trip in it over a decade sgo) so definitely wil try this pack.
Something about not being authorized or to that effect. I attempted a second time and was successful.
That's what I'm dealing with now. The engine sound is still unchanged. Might have to reinstall this DLC and start over from scratch.
Now I've ruined the Welcome to Miami scenario. Deleted the CSX C40-8W accidentally and after putting it back on the map as the service 1 train it won't move and as a result I can't do the scenario. I did fix the engine sound though.
