Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest! This week's theme is: Turntables and Roundhouses You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice? You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Monday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community. Competition Rules: Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post. Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable). Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels. Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post. In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale. Other Rules: Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes. Aren't there always more votes than entries ? I often vote, but never post an image. Mainly because the contest is not about taking a screenshot anymore. But I often do enjoy what others post.
To be fair, I would enter this week but I won last weeks so it’s only fair to take a week out and let others have a go
The reason why I no longer contribute. Got sick of being announced as the lucky winner, but then had to wait for ever to see it on the loading screen for maybe 2 days or on two occasions never. This thread is an absolute farce and always will be as it is a "NO INTEREST" part of the current DTG setup. We are not as important as Track Side Walker 5

I have voiced my opinions on many occasions (to deaf ears) with how badly this thread is run, which does not explain why you as a complainer never contribute one of your own wonderful award winning contributions? Using the editor to improve the composition is hardly a cheat. It's a core part of the game. I only have a medium power PC. Because of this I don't have any graphics settings on max, apart from water reflections. That hasn't stopped me getting prize winning screenshots. The trick is to think about what sort of 'photo' you want. and then set it up. Relying on spontaneous screen shots as you drive is very hit and miss, although sometimes it works.
Not a lot to say that hasn’t already but, I literally run the game on a laptop with far lower graphics settings than your average user… and I won last week. And if you can’t use the editor to set something up, then this games clearly not for you. Secondly, if it’s really bothering people this much about the state of a screenshot competition, where you don’t win a prize, where your shot gets put on a loading screen for 3 weeks and that’s it. Get a grip. It’s a bit of a fun that a few of us do every now and again. We await a DTG response ( probably won’t happen lmao) but yet the world continues to turn. ps: if you don’t enter you cannot complain about other people not entering. Makes you look quite thick.
And your specs are not important - it's pretty irrelevant actually. Even on low end systems you could play with full quality as the FPS you're getting plays no role for a screenshot. What matters is the image composition, your eye for good motives. I'm glad I can tick "Win the Screenshot Competition once" off my list, seems it's abandoned. Not sure if it's due to strikes and layoffs in the crisis-shaken gaming industry, but it all looks pretty bleak.
I only join when I find the theme is interesting but also have been busy lately so have not played TSC much lately.
DTG JD The way this has been handled deserves a clarification, provided you have some respect left for your non-TSW community which helped build the foundations of your company? I can't recall a whole week being skipped without any notification.
Worth noting TSW's contest has also not ended as well. I just think Jamie took the week off and no one filled in to finish either screenshot contests.
Sometimes life gets in the way of things and sometimes there are other priorities than gaming. . . . just be patient.
