Does anyone know if you can disable the new eye adaption lighting feature? When looking into the sky or a bright area with my character or photo camera, everything in the peripheral vision is dark as the tubes on the Bakerloo Line.

You can mitigate it with mods but switching it off is not a good idea, because TSW 3, 4 and 5 are not playable without eye adaptation. You simply don't see anything, see for yourself! You can read Matt's explanation here.

I'd love to switch it off, but there's no toggle. It " improved " slightly in WCML, but it still causes me to look away sometimes. Never saw the point of it frankly.

It’s fundamental to the way the lighting works and there’s nothing wrong with the feature per se, it just simply isn’t being used or setup correctly. There is a fundamental lack of understanding in my opinion as to how lighting should work in UE4 and they haven’t made any attempt to change it, or the graphics, since releasing TSW3 (which was where we first encountered ToDv4). At this point I’m of the opinion that they don’t know how, or honestly think it is fine as it is. The question that baffles me is ‘why would you not?’ change it when it’s so very clearly not right for a good chunk of the time.

There are so many features built in to this engine that could enhance both the look and performance of TSW yet here we are, 8 years and 7 iterations down the metaphorical track and we have none of them, nor are any of them on the horizon.
