Please rework and extend the Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr to Düsseldorf or even Köln on the western side. I would love to see the route being less linear by adding a branch from Ratingen Ost (S6) to the mainline and the Düsseldorf Airport (S11) to the mainline. If extended till Köln, add the branch to Solingen for the S1 services. The services of the S1 can be extended till Düsseldorf when cutting at Düsseldorf or even till Solingen if extended till Köln. Also, if extended till Dortmund, the S1 service could be completed from start to end of line. The S11 services could be limited to owners of the New Journeys Expansion pack of the Köln Aachen line (BR 423), while the S6 services can be driven with the BR 422 which is already included. The S11 services would be represented from Düsseldorf Flughafen Terminal – Düsseldorf Hbf and the S6 services would be represented from Ratingen Ost – Düsseldorf Hbf when cutting at Düsseldorf. If extended till Köln, you would also have the chance to represent the full S6 till Köln if continiued till Köln Nippes. If possible with new licenses, add the RRX RE services with the Simens Desiro HC in RRX colors, if needed to make it profitable as an extra loco dlc that costs as much as 10€. This could also include a new timetable for the Route, what has layers for ICE, IC, Regionalexpress (DB and RRX), Regionalbahn, S–Bahn, Flixtrain and Cargo to have more service diversity while choosing a route and driving. Overall I would say, HRR is too short and linear and by adding an extention till Düsseldorf or even Köln and/or Dortmund with smaller branches, and improving the service variation with a new timetable and loco, players would enjoy the route even more. If just extended till Düsseldorf, many players would enjoy if this would be free, but if extended till Köln or Dortmund, an additional price is fair, as a maximum up to 35,99€ (29,99€ HRR + 6€ Extendion) like Kassel Würzburg or Frankfurt Fulda. The loco DLC would include the Desiro HC of RRX if possible with licenses and a new timetable (not costing over 10€)
To be clear: Existing Route - Duisburg to Bochum via Essen, 46 km of track, 14 stations (3 major), 2 freight yards, 1 depot Bochum to Dortmund - Approx 20 km of track, 8 stations (1 major, 1 route-adjacent), freight yard Duisburg to Düsseldorf - Approx 24 km of track, 12 stations (1 major, 1 route-adjacent), Flughafen Düsseldorf Essen to Düsseldorf - Approx 31 km of track, 9 stations (2 major) | If Höseler Tunnel closed Approx 7.5km, 3 stations (Düsseldorf - Ratingen Ost) Düsseldorf to Solingen - Approx 15 km of track, 5 new stations (1 major) Düsseldorf to Köln (East of Rhein) - Approx 40 km of track, 15 new stations (1 major, 2 route-adjacent), freight yard, depot Düsseldorf to Köln (West of Rhein) - Approx 48 km of track, 21 new stations (1 major, 1 route-adjacent), two freight yards, depot This is quite an ambitious proposal. If anything, the most likely case would be an overhaul + extension to Dortmund (66 km), then a separate route servicing Duisburg - Köln (64 km). I would be absolutely ecstatic to see this come to fruition, but such a large scale expansion is unfeasible. Even the longest route in the game, Kassel - Würzburg, is only 116 km 186 km (my mistake) and is mostly tunnels. Frankfurt-Fulda, which would be a similar level of detailing, is 103 km. The shortest combination to go Dortmund - Köln is 130 km, and with everything the total length would be 224 km.
