I know you probably won't read this text but I have a suggestion for a new route for Austria. I live in Austria myself and I think Austria has a very beautiful landscape. But you shouldn't forget the capital Vienna, so I have an idea, how about the route from St.Pölten and Vienna, I know it is not easy but it is a huge dream of mine. (Trains e.g. REX 51 or S 50) (S 50 = regional train) (REX 51 = Regional Express)

Yes, we need more Austria! It seems you want to suggest the regional "old" Westbahn rather then the high speed ETCS Line. What trains would run on this line? Probably the Doppelstock with 1116 and the 4024 on S-Bahn I guess.

    one of older threads:
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/schnellfahrstrecke-westbahn-vienna-to-st-pölten.82897/

my numerous suggestion threads, covering all three corridors between Bratislava and Vienna, and one of the corridors to St. Polten (Franz Josefs Bahn + Tullnerfeld Bahn)
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...s-bahnhof-tulln-an-der-donau-st-polten.82813/
    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rex8-marchegger-ostbahn.82607/

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rex6-ostbahn.82609/

would love any of the three corridors to St. Polten (S40, highspeed one and old Westbahn), but I would also love any of the three corridors towards Wiener Neustadt (mainline/Modling/Baden Line, Pottendorfer Line, Aspangbahn)

BUT! if they did any of these routes, I hope they also do the whole Stammstrecke... or S45+S80... Stammstrecke itself would add like 25mins services, even if they dont do whole routes of those - Meidling - Hbf - Floridsdorf, with a couple more minutes if they also did it up to Liesing

aaand, they finally need to do Desiro ML, with its awesome sounds, great acceleration... aw man :D

old Westbahn has variety of stock - but what I have seen the most is either 4024/4746 as S50 (with two possible destinations, not all the way to St. Polten) or this weirdo:
    upload_2024-10-11_20-45-39.jpeg
sometimes called "Camel Hump"... not sure why they use this kind of consist, my theory is that cos of weight distribution, as a lot of old Westbahn is quite curvy, usually on high mounds or at the edge of cliffs/deep valleys)... this consist runs the REX trains on old Westbahn

atm all trains are diverted to old Westbahn, as the big floods severely damaged the highspeed tunnels... atm both tracks of old Westbahn are operational, and the highspeed route should be back in operation mid December :)

over the last couple years, I have ridden most of Vienna's lines - S1 to Marchegg, S2 to Wolkersdorf, S3 to Liesing only, S4 to Stockerau, S7/REX7+6+8 aka trains to Bratislava and Wolfsthal, but also all corridors to Wiener Neustadt and St. Polten, and loved it :) ... even did a joyride from Wien Hbf to St. Polten on-board of an ICE-T and for journey back I did CJX 5, worth it :D ... oh, and Badner Bahn too :D

would love to be able to drive the routes I love to ride as passenger, but from loco driver's perspective :)

I've suggested this back in 2021 as the ÖBB Schnellfahrstrecke Wien St Pölten Linz Salzburg Westbahn. Wien Kledering needs to be the freight terminal here if made

for Kledering to be viable they would have to introduce hump yard physics to the game... and also those mighty electric shunters that push those heavy @ss trains up the hump :) ... and... hump yard operations thingie too

if Vienna, dont even knock on my door unless you have Desiro ML ready with it :D ... that is literally THE train that made me fall for Vienna's transport system :) and on CJX services, once it is unleashed, maaaaan :D

but if we only went for 4024, then I would suggest a twin route of S45 and S80, as both originate/terminate at major regional junction/hub of Hutteldorf... S45 Hutteldorf to Handelskai is interesting, nice, fairly fast in parts, takes about 30-40mins depending on weather and other conditions, has services every 10 mins as it is essentially a line that substitutes for subway/U-Bahn in parts it covers... and S80, not very fast, but has awesome route, with that single tracked triangle over highway and everything, crossing Speising and such, before turning to Meidling, crossing some of Stammstrecke and then you have parts via Simmering all the way to Aspern Nord and such... tho these routes dont have much freight (except S80, but for freight it would be too short and would have to include freight branches to Stadlau)

there is soooo much you can do with Vienna... but essentials, at least for me:
    - Desiro ML 4744/4746 as the core train of S-Bahn, regio and CJX
    - properly done Taurus with Wiesel/CityJet dostos for those more "packed" regional services, especially to Wiener Neustadt
    - one of major hubs done properly - Wien Hbf with both upper and S-Bahn level OR Westbahnhof/Hutteldorf (for Westbahn) OR... lots of options
    - Stammstrecke, at least Meidling - Hbf - Floridsdorf, with one of branches/extensions to either Liesing, Purkersdorf, Strebersdorf, Sussenbrunn... depending on route done
    - if also including long distance, we already have Taurus+IC coaches, but RailJet :)
    - as for locos, properly done Taurus, Vectron and maybe 1144 as vintage workhorse loco that can do it all, from freight to regio to long distance "D" services
    - 5047 if you include non-electrified branch(es)

check out my links I posted here, I did like 4 suggestion threads for Vienna :D

Desiro ML would be fire to see! We in Belgium have them too (different cabine) and she is pretty nice!

for me when I first saw it - first, the sound is awesome when it is accelerating, especially from 0 kph... then, the interior is so nice, for me as passenger... and then, my first ride was from WIen Hbf to Seyring, so once it got past I think Leopoldau, bam the acceleration pushed me into my seat :) ... but my best experiences were CJX 5 from St. Polten to Wien Westbahnhof and CJX 9 from Baden to Wien Hbf... Desiro ML unleashed to its full power :)

Sounds are amazing and if they are doing it i want it to be accurate as possible since she sounds pretty good (so well inside as outside!). Sadly ours dont seat very well but its fine since she mostly operates on S-serivces, still room for improvements though! About acceleration, she is faaastt yeahh, always nice to be on one on a stopping service with bit of delay where they apply looottt of power! :D

tried CJX services? I had the joy to be on CJX 5 and 9... CJX 5 was almost constant 160 up till Hutteldorf, then chill to Westbahnhof... and CJX 9 I took from Baden, up til Liesing it was like 140-150 kph, then in Vienna slower of course :) ... the thing is, if they finally did Desiro ML, they could FINALLY do realistic CJX 9 on Semmeringbahn... which is Desiro ML in double traction... sometimes it is 2x 4746, sometimes it is combo 4744 and 4746 (the only difference being the number of doors I think)
