Yesterday I completed the "In Threes" scenario on ECML, as it was the last mastery challenge I had left to do for the route. It's quite a long scenario as well, so imagine my disappointment when even after restarting the game. the game is still claiming I haven't done it. It's not the first time either, LGV is also claiming I need to complete two more scenarios to unlock the last mastery page, even though all have been completed for quite some time. I'm not gonna play a nearly hour and a half long scenario again just on the off chance it might work the second time. I don't have the desire to replay any scenarios I've already completed. I think one of the tier 2 challenges for MML is to complete 2 scenarios or something like that. I unlocked that after already completing all the scenarios for that route. Why make us play them again? This isn't the only problem with mastery. I'm convinced the challenges are made by people who have never even seen the route they're for, let alone played it. One of the challenges for Goblin is reach 80mph- double the regular linespeed of the line, and faster than the maximum speed for the Class 710! Then there's the rewards themselves- the decals are utterly useless for someone who doesn't create liveries, and I'm not convinced the people who do spend a lot of time creating liveries use them much. The only (sometimes) worthwhile reward are the special mastery tiles which change an aspect of the route, but even these are a mixed bag. On the one hand I love seeing Battersea Power Station lit up at night, but on the other hand I still have no idea where the rewards for Bakerloo or GWE are located, and both have been unlocked for years now. I love the idea of mastery, and sometimes the final reward is great, however it needs to be completely reworked. More interesting challenges that aren't "complete scenarios" or "massively break the speed limit and have a career ending incident". Better and more varied rewards, and above all else- make sure they unlock properly.
Sometimes you need to reopen the Mastery page several times before it shows up correctly. At first it always shows completely random and made up info. Just keep reopening it 4-5 times and see if it changes.
The BKL reward is located near Kenton and consists of a few wooden huts on a market square. You'll find the GWE reward at Reading Depot, several blue and red marquees and hundreds of camping tents, hard to miss.
You'll also hear "live" music then. Back in the 90's, Reading and Glastonbury were the most important european music festivals...
