Sand Patch Grade is a freight route that runs from Cumberland to Rockwood, but the GP38-2 does switching services in Cumberland yard. Southeastern Highspeed has one or two shunting services using the class 66. Naverkehr Dresden has a class 363 running from Riesa to Nunchritz, then dumping the tankers there, before picking up another set to go back to Riesa. This happens multiple times per day, but is only a very small part of the route. East Coastway has a class 66 travel from Lewes to Newhaven, where it runs around a consist of wagons, filling them up with aggregate, before taking them back to Lewes. I don't have it, but I reckon any route with a class 08 is worth looking into (Tees Valley Line, or Northern Transpennine with the Heavy Freight Pack if you feel like buying two DLCs). Shunting, switching, and depot moves in general are very underrepresented in TSW. I'd like to see more, but I doubt it will come soon.

With the exception of Sand Patch Grade, those services don't really make up much of the timetable. Allow me to show you: Sand Patch Grade: Any service starting with Y1 (eg. Y104 Car switching) There are 14 of these runs. They are operated by the same pair of locomotives, which switch from 09:00 until 23:00 Southeastern Highspeed: There are 6 shunting moves in total. The rest are regular freight runs (some of which start or end at Hoo Junction). Naverkehr Dresden: It turns out that there are only 4 main runs here (each split into 3 parts). They are back-to-back from 07:00 to 10:00.
That is the Rail Heat Treatment Train, which runs in Autumn to spray the tracks so that the leaves are removed (improving adhesion). I don't think it does shunting. The class 66 that I mention in Southeastern Highspeed comes included with the route.
I forgot to write the East Coastway, which also has 4 runs (each split into three) that are scattered sparsely between 07:00 and 18:00).

As I understand it, this is an unofficial place for the community to share their mods and creations with each other. I haven't used it myself, but I gather that it is a very trustworthy site with lots of enhancements to existing routes, timetable modifications, and custom scenarios. There is, I believe, a lot of content for Train Sim Classic which will not work on Train Sim World, so if you find one, make sure it is for Train Sim World.

Depends. What route and trains do you have that you want to include? You can have something like having a slow train running in front of you, so you get lots of red signals, or you can do something like a railtour, where an old or foreign train runs a once-in-a-lifetime service. Dovetail Games have their official 'Creator's Club' where creations from scenario planner, livery designer, and formation designer are shared. Yes, but the steam loco physics in game aren't great. A lot of shunting with the 4f at Peak Forest though and a very good looking route.
