PS5 Patch 3 Update

No performance improvements what so ever this feels terrible. Why is there low fps at Euston Station and other stations. You said you had inproved it. Lots of juddering going on as you look around. When trains pass you it's like a slide show at times. Very disappointed PlayStation 5.

 

If you think a patch is going to fix the performance issues, I have some magic beans to sell you.

 

I'm so disappointed it's currently unplayable in this state how can DTG think this is ok.

 

Have they actually done anything to the lighting at Euston? It said they it should be darker in the patch notes but it still seems too bright to me.

 

Salzburg - Rossenheim BR 185.2 cab 2 not working (broken since suspension update frw months ago) have still not be fixed… hopefully wont get forgotten.

 

Yes they have it does look so much better but it's no good to me looking pretty if it plays like a dog.

Positive news and much appreciated.

Hopefully one of many thorough updates to bring WCML upto the standard it deserves.

I don't know if it's been listed, but AI Class 350s don't have the passenger lights turned on and have dark interiors. Such a small bug but one of the more noticable ones for me.

 

It has been that way on PC since release. Was it any different on Playstation before?

 

Yes. Before on the ps5 home screen it had "Train sim world 5" I believe. Now only has the 5

 

Here's a tip. ZOOM out of the live map. This is the cause of most of the perfom issues

 

Patch is 1.2Gb (for Steam) but 55Gb worth of files to work through. Going to take a while. Off to play Deus Ex HR or TSC while I wait...

In contrast it was 250mb on PS5 and took just a few minutes. I only have the TSW5 free starter so maybe I didn't need all the fixes for the TSW5 routes which I am in no way tempted to spend money on yet.

Won't have time to check for performance improvements on older routes till after dinner.

Sounds disappointing and I am sorry to hear that. What DTG should understand is that we are actually all rooting for them and want a quality product that we can happily spend our money on.

Even people like myself who walked away from the franchise for over 2 years are desperate to see TSW succeed and reach its full potential. When a route runs smoothly without stutters and jerks it is for me amongst the most relaxing and enjoyable video game/sim experience available.

Where it fails with stuttering and ugly frame rate drops it is a real turn off to the point of not wanting to run the route again and that is a gut wrenching tragedy when it includes such beautifully crafted routes like Blackpool/Preston and the Cathcart remaster.

 

The lighting looks better imo

 

Can confirm Euston lighting is fixed, it's a well modelled station.

Here's a comparison between the Livestream and current version, how the lighting is not affecting the cab anymore (vanilla engine.ini)

 

dtg_jan there also seem to be update files on PS5 for BCC and the regional railways livery. Can you confirm what these patches have fixed please? Thank you

 

DB BR 114 brakes are still very much broken

 

Is DB BR114 fixed now? I know it should be, but the braking doesn't seem to work well for me.

Deus EX is great!!, I have found the patch on PC has made the game worse. Although I am modded up to the eyeballs.

 

That's good. Looking back I think I've only ever been at Euston irl in the late evening/ night, so maybe I'm expecting it to be darker than it usually is.

 

Blurring of textures persists
Fast Travel from Frankfurt Main to Frankfurt Sud and it froze... I didn't feel like trying anything else
Leaving Photo mode always resets the weather to the default Clear

 

Reading through the patch notes, this one stood out to me:

Live Map

• Fixed an issue to ensure the departures list on the 2D map shows correct trains at all times

What kind of departures list as part of the route map are we talking about here? Would be amazing if I could hover over a station’s fast travel symbol and get a table with incoming arrivals/departures. Sort of like the PIS screens, just right there on the map - especially for routes without in-game platform information screens like WSR, SOS and so on.
But I don’t believe that feature is currently in the game, so what is this patch note for?

 

In was doing Guard Mode in service 2K02 from Milton Keynes to London Euston on the PS4. I noticed to following errors still happening;

• No lighting in passenger cars, making the train dark in the tunnel.
• Stations missing in the “next Stops” List and the passenger’s tickets.
• Train stuck behind numerous trains near the Wembley Yards heading towards London Euston.

 

2K02 is a broken service due to a depot move pendolino

 

How can the 114 still be broken?!?!?!

 

My personal guess answered in an other thread:

DTG started even back in tsw4 to put "solved bugs" on the log list, which turned out to be not solved, neither adressed, but straight lied forward.

Classic example: in one of the bigger patches in spring, there was listed:

- substitution of the 1116 in vorarlberg
- substitution of the vectron on the semmering route.

Havent seen a single 1116 appearing on just 1 service. Same for the vectron, appeared not once on a service in semmering.

So apparently brakes of the 114 are not solved? What a surprize....,

 

I only cared about the 101 expert update, which delivered all promised fixes.

This loco is a true masterpiece and in my opinion the most true to life experience available in a train sim.

Just accept the fact, the 114 is broken and botched. There were many answers in tsws history that such screew ups with fundamental faults require an entire rebuild of the loco. So ??

- pgr brakesystem is offcially abandoned (technically since maintalbahn where i started to ask me why the timberwagon has the tsw1 brake behaviour with no pg change)

Very questionable direction.., the expert 101 prevented me from uninstalling tsw. Once again, my days as a customer were already gone with the timetable cuts in tsw4.

 

I think it's for Conductor mode on BCC.

 

I've been critical of DTG recently, but so far this patch is working (I only have UK DLCs so can't speak for German routes) but Euston lighting is looking better and it wasn't as glitchy when driving into it. So yeah, I'll praise them here, well done.

 

The 114 was broken is previous releases, this is true, however it was at least drivable, it's gone backwards, and is, at least for me, no longer drivable, unless you consider using emergency brakes acceptable, which I don't.

So no, I wouldn't accept something in the new iteration of the game, on one of the flagship routes, being broken.

 

On PS5 I also got an update for BCC and the Centro 323

 

@ dtg_jan, on PC (steam) The brakes are still not working properly on the BR114

 

They still havent fixed the issue where AI Pendolinos (Class 390) trains are only going 110mph max and not reaching 125mph. So when I pass them they look slow. In some sections of the line they are only doing 90mph.

 

There could have been core improvements that affect a lot of dlc

 

Could that be the scheduled fixes for conductor mode?
