Hello Everyone! So some people who may regularly look at the Steam Workshop may have noticed a new route called the West Coastway Line | Brighton to West Worthing. That is my route that I am currently working on to present the lovely West Coastway onto Train Simulator Classic as best as I can get it! As it is my first proper route build I have done on a real railway line some scenery may look bad, but any feedback for scenery is much appreciated! Anyway here are a few screenshots of the development which I share on the Steam Workshop every step of the way. The route is meant to be set in as modern day as I can get it (so 2023). To make it easier for me to build the route it is going to be in may versions that will include a new section of the route each time! V1 - Brighton to West Worthing V2 - West Worthing to Littlehampton & Ford V3 - Ford - Bognor Regis V4 - Barnham - Chichester V5 - Chichester - Havant The route may go to Portsmouth Harbour in future for a V6, but at the moment the plan is only to go as far as Havant. The current way the route is portrayed on the Steam Workshop is in Preview Versions, this is so every time a new piece of scenery is completed from station to station, I can get feedback on it so when the next Preview Version is done, any feedback can be instantly added so the route can be to peoples standards! At the moment the route scenery focuses on Cab View scenery, distant scenery will be added once the first Full Release Version is out! The route is an extension onto the current London to Brighton route as well so you can create full London to Littlehampton and even more services in future for scenarios. I hope you enjoy the route and enjoy the progress I am doing!
Brillant work. if only this could reach Southampton. I sometimes travel from Brighton all the way to Southampton just for an ikea dinner. Would really love to reexperience this trip in TSC.
actually i do want to question, must i really purchase old versions of the required routes to be able to run sussex line? I actaully bought the wherry lines from AP's site (albeit i havent got the required routes to get the route actually working, just missing over shap and island line), i got a chatham mainline route that includes another branch (i have medway valley and London-Gillingham (is that the original one?)) does that work also?
You need exactly the DLC specified, as the route uses their assets. You can still install the route and buy requirements later - missing objects will be replaced by small milk bottles then. I am just installing this one, thanks for bumping Anyone made some scenarios? georgefirmage Great job! Thank you for sharing this. Is the grass on the tracks in places wanted or is the route intended to be played without Procedural Flora (like JustTrains routes, they always tell you in the manual)? Edit: Definitely to be played with Procedural Flora off - all vegetation has been placed manually.
I have 2 scenarios for The Sussex Lines v0.5 route on my website although I downloaded the route from ATS as opposed to either the workshop or the georgebeanysimulation page but I’m guessing that doesn’t matter with the 0.5 version of the route.
I forgot I made this thread, whoopsies. Given I have forgotten about it, ill post a few screenies of the upcoming Phase 2, That being from West Worthing to Littlehampton and also including Ford. I intend to release this by the end of the year but knowing my lack of keeping to timescales it might not release then. This will include (obviously) West Worthing to Littlehampton with all the stations, A revamp of the original section of the line (Brighton to West Worthing) Custom Station Signs Merge of the rest of the Brighton Mainline and South London Lines (for full Victoria to Littlehampton runs) Swap of the track to JT/GU ones Reducing some payware requirements and adding a few freeware ones. I'll hopefully remember this thread in future so keep an eye out!
Yeah thats cause I never used ballast ground textures for that part of the route, that is fixed so anyone who likes using Procedural Flora will now not have grass in the next phase!
I assume that is regarding the Wherry Lines issue and having to have two of them. That is fixed for the next phase by simply removing all the assets and stuff from Wherry Lines so its not needed anymore!
I knew I would remember this thread! Almost completed the extension from West Worthing to Littlehampton/*Ford. A lot of work has gone into the extension so far! All this made without making any custom assets, all kitbashed with whatever I have at play! *Ford is an added extra so you can start and finish scenarios if the player train is not bound for the Littlehampton Branch.
Stunning!! How is your process on placing down the route? Do you build a station then make the scenery first before moving on to the next station with a track already laid? Or would the track extend once you finish a area?
I place down track first for the entire phase of route I am doing then go along the route placing scenery and go on until I have finished the entire scenery.
Currently just to Littlehampton and Ford station from Brighton. I will be adding track to Barnham but there will be no scenery on that section until the next possible phase to Bognor.
