    Welcome to the Train Sim World Screenshot Contest!

    This week's theme is: USA


    How does it work?
    You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Monday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels, even better if it’s 4K!
    • Screenshots may be taken on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S ,Steam or Epic.
    • Submissions must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    Other Rules:
    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no community mods.
    • No entries to include vehicles using Livery Designer. Due to licencing limitations we are unable to use these images.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Monday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Monday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!

    Setting up the shot

    If you are playing on Steam the keys “2” or “3” will offer a selection of pre-set external views, or you can use “8” to get a free camera with more control. If you are playing on console pressing the right joystick will give you a free external camera. Console players can change the camera angle moving the two joysticks, and on Steam the direction keys and mouse will achieve the same results.

    I know you're probably very busy, but could we fix this post please? It's kind of getting on my nerves every week (it's only mild - and pretty insignificant, so this whole post is meant to be tentative)

    Here's the list:
    Should this be here now?

    I don't know if this is still a thing. It may need revising, it may not.

    I don't know if Xbox PC counts, but Epic Games appears to be excluded. Should it be?

    Are both of these still true? I'm only getting the most recent week's winner, and we don't do decisions on Friday anymore since we all sign off for the weekend.

    Lastly, is it worth adding the Photo Mode feature to this list? It may be too obvious, so I can understand why it wouldn't be there.

    It's supposed to be the time when Flying Scotsman visited the U.S. in the late 60s / early 70s. I know it's the wrong variant of Scotsman and Flying Scotsman doesn't visit Cajon but you can't get everything right. I gave Scotsman two tenders though.

    I would have to agree with you with this. The things they state in this post are inaccurate to the screenshot competitions in modern day, and how to take screenshots in the game. I was even confused when I first started taking screenshots for these competitions with the Xbox screenshot guide saying "hold X to take a screenshot" when in reality it was a whole different button combination before photo mode existed. It's probably more obvious on how to screenshot now, but I'm really surprised that things like these haven't been fixed even after years of it being like that.
