I was playing a Roblox train game and I was at the platform and there were train announcements which I thought was amazing, and the train speakers to say that the next stop and so on . So I thought it would make the game feel even more realistic if they made the stations have speaker announcements and have there be announcements on the train as well .
100% needed, would improve immersion and on-train announcements is something that needs normalized in TSW too.
Would be amazing to see, but license wise its bit hard to get it. You need to get them from the company, and then from the person who talks... So lot of talks and a good agreement are needed!
Why not just get someone working at DTG to read/speak the announcements as they do with some of it already in London overground?
Yep, I know it's a sim, so everyone wants accuracy, but I don't see this as anything more than what they do for tutorials. AI can do quite a bit these days at no cost and could add regional accent variances. Great addition to immersion.
Live platform announcements would be great especially when a train is delayed it would be great to implement this into the game I have the bakerloo line & 710 announcement mod and it really does enhance the game. We had announcements before in TSW but they haven't really been a priority for some reason lately they had them in Edinburgh - Glasgow line and some others I believe but it would be great to have this as a new addition to TSW5
I get this would be harder, but personally I would find realistic announcements important - i.e. the specific voices for different trains/operators/stations etc. - if it was a generic one on a station I had been to, I would find that immersion breaking. If I hadn't been to the station, I guess I would never know.
This is true, with the way AI is advancing, but TrackingTrains brings up a good point, it would not sound right hearing a Scottish voice on say Bakerloo, then again I don't know how many Scottish people live in the London area or even I'm making the correct analogy, the US has only LIRR, I guess it could work?
