Can someone explain me the problem with SNCF licenses thats prevents DTG from creating more french routes ? It's been like three years since we got the first and only french road. Does this problem only concern the SNCF ? Because if so, DTG could model trains and roads in the Paris regions that are managed by RATP if they have their approval. They could make the RER A, which is basically the busiest train in Europe. They are also the 15 paris metros under the juridiction of RATP.

I doubt they'll give any details about licenses and the 3rd party their point of view.
I asked about the Belgian sncb/nmbs/infrabel a few times but they'll remain silent until it happens

If it has some part of it over the ground, like Bakerloo, yes.

I'm not entirely sure of the source when it came to the SNCF no longer sanctioning TSW products; read somewhere on the forum and it went viral including repeated a couple of times by myself. So it would be interesting to hear from DTG themselves if there is an embargo and what the particular problem is. Presumably to do with depicting their train and infrastructure operations that could be deemed as instructional for those who might think they could just drive off a real train, though could be something else...

For me once the novelty has worn off there’s very little replay ability about metro routes. One piece of rolling stock (usually) and identical stopping patterns for the most part. For these reasons I voted no thanks

Yes I understand about the subway, the barkeloo Line quickly lost interest for me. However, I think the trains in the Paris suburbs would be good add-ons with beautiful scenery and superb rolling stock. I should have separated metros and trains in the poll.

Let’s say they’ll do one of the 16 Parisian lines, we can eliminate the line 1, 4 and 14 which are driverless but also the line 7bis and 3bis (1.3 km long isn’t interesting of course). It means we’ll have 11 lines left but honestly, it’s better if DTG will focus on transilien/RER lines which offer more diversity with the possibility of having freight trains.

The big problem right now is licensing, the SNCF is quite closed at the moment and for the RATP… they’re the worst. How many train content creators asked the RATP for licensing but they always refused, especially for buses but that’s another topic.

The only way to get French content at the moment is through TSC. For Parisian content and its surrounding, I know there’s a Z20500 being done and a small team of 3D artists did the MS61 and are in a good talk with the RATP (surprising). They even featured their work at the RATP headquarters during the European Heritage Days.

I don't think you get a very good view of the City of Lights from a hole in the ground

There are metros that spend a large part of their journey above ground. Such is the case with line 6, the famous line on which you can see the Eiffel Tower up close. Metro line 6 covers a distance of 13.6 km, 6.1 km of which is above ground. It also serves 13 viaduct stations out of a total of 28. So, with this line, you can really admire the beauty of France's capital.
