Today i will be suggesting the York to newcastle (73 miles) section of the ecml. There are 3 TOC that I could find that regularly stop between these two destinations those being Cross Country, LNER and TPE Trains operated include, Class 220/221 XC Class 800/801 LNER class 802 TPE Services and stations York, Northallerton, Darlington, Durham Chester-le-Street Newcastle. There are 58 cross country train per day between York and Newcastle class 220/221 56 LNER service per day between york and Newcastle class 800/801 48 Transpennie express trains per day between York and Newcastle Tpe 48 trains per day York, Thirsk ,Northallerton Potential Extension to Sunderland extra 10 miles from Newcastle Grand central york to Sunderland 6 trains per day class 180/221 LNER also serves 1 tpd to Sunderland Backdating/licenses I am aware Arriva (XC and GC) licence may be hard to acquire so these services could be turned into either LNER/TPE Services or be unbranded which I personally do not mind. Backdated This route could be set a couple years back with class 43s and 225s in LNER or East coast liverys
Yes, this. If any further sections of the ECML are attempted, then the Deltic and its era are the monumental and iconic feature we are looking for, along with the Tyne bridges of course!
