Very simple with the introduction of the new KISS EMU’s it’s time to bring one of the most beloved routes of the game to the new standard of TSW5 with the new Stadler and extend the route to Gilroy.
The new KISS EMUs are pretty cool. I watched a Youtube video recently, and I think that electrification of the Peninsula Corridor is a good idea. I want the route extended to Gilroy, too. I have two other possibilities for expansion of the route: 1.) Add a UP GP60 and/or rebuilt GP62/GP60E (both UP and ex-SP/SSW units), SD70M (ex-SP units, too; also multiple cab and radiator variations should be included), and/or SD59MX to the route for more freight action, along with some new freight cars 2.) Make a new SP Peninsula Commute Route: San Francisco-Gilroy with an SP FM H-24-66 Trainmaster, Alco S4, Alco RS-32, and EMD GP9. This would be my prefered update. The FM H-24-66 and GP9 need to be painted in both the Black Widow and Bloody Nose liveries.
oh, I love Stadler Kiss trains, would love to drive the US version to see the cab and experience the acceleration
100% yes, would love to be able to run the modern trainsets with the new timetable. Could be interesting to also include the transition era timetable, with some diesel-hauled and some EMUs.
A remaster is more likely to tweak the existing scenery and timetable, rather than the work that would be needed to electrify the route and create the new train sets.
I believe this would be more like a LIRR 2.0 or IOW 2022 scenario, with a complete overhaul of the route.
That was the implication, yes... Complete overhaul + new rolling stock + potentially more track is an expensive task; I would expect the team gets compensated for doing so.
and an extortionate cost even with the measly 5% discount for those who already own the route XD like they did with LIRR.
To be fair, it would be as if they're building the route completely from scratch. That warrants a higher cost in my eyes.
