My idea is each year when a new iteration is realesed instead of getting the 3 standard country and 2 loco dlc we instead get 5 routes 3 being the standard 3 and 2 being preferably new countries, then countries with less then 5 routes then operators going from least amount of routes
So you are asking for double the work? Creating routes are much more expensive and much more time consuming. Now you are asking for 5 which will raise prices even further and cause more crunching to get all those out within 1 year.
And how would this raise the prices? Is it not possible to do what they currently do with or even have a system were you can get x amount of routes of your choosing for $Y amount. Also they could just get 3rd parties to do some of the routes or be a partner in the route making.
Same schedule, double the workload, and less DLCs throughout the year. Doesn't sound like a good idea.
Clearly it's not possible with current resources, otherwise TSW5 would have been released with fewer issues. So either they would need more resources (costs money, therefore price increases) or quality goes down to meet the schedule. They already use partners in making routes (we now know that in WCMLS), and we already have a system of x number of routes for y price - it's called DLC, you get what you pay for. There's an eternal balance between content, cost, quality and time. If you want more content then be prepared for a trade-off in one of the others.
good explanation, am mainly after new countries or lesser seen countries. so maybe bringing it down to 4 or keeping it at 3 and and subbing one of the main 3 on a rotating basis (e.g. 2025 no usa base, 2026 no uk base 2027 no germany base) with the new or lesser used country would be an option. Though this would be controversial. To be honest I don't know what the best way to get new countries or lesser countries routes to be made more often.
Would be licenses and more 3rd parties who have the local expertise. Without a license or access, it's pretty much a no go.
That’s not only expensive, but time consuming as well. Plus DTG is a UK- based company, getting necessary audio and reference material can be difficult for them, especially for American based content.
the first step in improving the yearly cycle would be to stop releasing a standalone game each time. i’m getting increasingly bored of having to redownload all my dlc every september
Well an overhaul is certainly needed but I would rather have had solid core improvements and two decent routes, than the minimal changes and mediocre routes we got. The only way we would get more routes is if these were very short and let’s face it WCMLS already came in for criticism by stopping at Milton Keynes.
