Random idea for a route came to me last night, Bridgend to milford haven on the south wales main line, set roughly in the early 2000s for the greatest variety of traction with possibly a new class 50/60. The line would include freight services from Margam to the robeston puma plant in milford haven and a steel flow from Trostre steel works to port talbot steel works, this route also gives opportunities for express services calling at Bridgend, port talbot, Neath and swansea with a possibility of express services as far as carmarthen or Pembroke dock. There's also the opportunity for stopping services calling at Bridgend, pyle, port talbot, baglan, briton ferry, neath, skewen, llansamlet, Swansea, llanelli, burry port and so forth until milford haven. would be a fairly long route but at the same time give players a route with a bit of everything, lots of freight flows, express passenger, stopping passenger. Lots of opportunities for traction with 150s, HSTs, 37s, 47s and the 08 just from the current running pool of UK locos in game! Not that this will amount to anything but may as well express ideas!!

FWIW, Milford Haven should be the end of the GWE route - it won't be though as it's way too long, I doubt even swansea is possible. Maybe think about a circular loop with coal or steel? We had a few MGRs back in the day in the valleys. Circular loop uses less scenery demands etc too so you'd think easier / quicker to develop.
