The Morristown Line, also known as the Morris & Essex Line,[2] is an NJ Transit commuter rail line connecting Morris and Essex counties to New York City, via either New York Penn Station or Hoboken Terminal. Out of 60 inbound and 58 outbound daily weekday trains, 28 inbound and 26 outbound Midtown Direct trains (about 45%) use the Kearny Connection (opened June 10, 1996) to Penn Station; the rest go to Hoboken. Passengers can transfer at Newark Broad Street or Summit to reach the other destination. On rail system maps the line is colored dark green, and its symbol is a drum, a reference to Morristown's history during the American Revolution. There is frequent service weekdays, with hourly service to/from New York (none going beyond Dover) on weekends. Until August 13, 2006, there was also hourly service to Hoboken. On that date, service between Hoboken and Summit was cut back to once every two hours on weekends. On May 11, 2008, off-peak weekday Hoboken-Dover trains (600 Series) were cut. In addition, weekend Gladstone trains were cut back to Summit, and a shuttle train is operated every two hours between Newark Broad Street and Hoboken Terminal. Excellent Idea and furthermore this route can receive layers from other NJ Transit routes. Example being the Raritan Valley Line if made these will be Comet II I IB CRRNJ GP40 PL42AC and ALP-45DP 4535. Rush Hour purposes Morristown train gets priority over an RVL NYP train at Swift Interlocking and waterfront connection. Both can be bundled as Newark, NJ commuter pack in German speaking Europe Nahverkehr Newark,NJ
I hope they’ll add this route to TSW 2 it would definitely be awesome driving New Jersey transit line on TSW 2 I hope the scenarios would be good if they do a New Jersey transit route for TSW 2.
NJT is a must for an new American Passenger route! They have amazing rolling stock and the routes they operate looks really fun! Some OHW/Diesel change would be cool to see!!
NJT especially Morristown line would be awesome. Though I'm biased since I live closest to this line and I've taken it many times from Dover to NYP and Hoboken. New Jersey Transit should be one of the next US Passenger routes as it is the Third Largest Commuter rail network in the US.
Good story but you need to make Waterfront connection very busy that's why it needs Raritan Valley Line or North Jersey coast line to make Waterfront connection busy. New York Penn Station site can be filled in with Boston-Providence and LIRR DLC. A friend of mine uses East Orange Station they live in West Orange.
I would like to see this added into tsw 2 as the first NJ Transit route for tsw 2 and would like to include the Gladstone Branch line along with the main line from Dover- Hoboken-New York Penn.
The Morristown Line was one of my favourite American passenger routes in Train Simulator, certainly more enjoyable than the NJT Coastline.
If I get Morristown Line I would simply play that as East Orange/ Orange because my Mum's friend uses those two stations towards Manhattan NY Penn Station. In my profile picture, it's an Arrow III EMU. Dover to Hoboken only since 1984 25kv 60hz project. Older Morristown Line DLC trains are 3kv DC OHLE.
