Hello fellow Railroaders! This Railway-Brat is befuddled to the utmost. I dont understand why DTG refuses to make a Route in the Region of Stuttgart. Yes, refuses. Let me explain. I've been with the games this company makes for more than a decade now. TSC was my first (or second) Steam game. From that perspective, i find it odd, that despite how globally renowned some of the routes in Southwest Germany are, with points of intrest like the black forrest, The 'Geislinger Steige', or Ulm with the massive Church there, DTG will reach for ANY excuse, not to pick up a route that would lead us to Stuttgart; May that be coming from Karlsruhe, Ulm, Crailsheim or Mannheim. And i cant help but wonder why. Because the reasons in favour are a given. Theyre obvious. Theyre self-evident. Spreading TSC's and TSW's routes out over a map of germany, creates a black spot around that general area, and it seems to me, after more than a decade, that theyre avoiding it like a plague, deliberately, not accidentally. But why? Has a higher up from DTG had bad experiences here? I simply must understand why there is such a resistance.
The post is aggressive. You can use that same argument with every route. There is a reason behind everything, whether it be licensing, access to reference material or simply the scope which might be too large. But you shouldn't just jump to conclusions that dtg is a bad company for not including a city
What is the point of this? If you're after a route that includes Stuttgart, make a suggestion for one, rather than making an ranting post that will achieve nothing.
There is/was resistance yes, but the resistance was that Baden Württemberg was the only state in Germany that did not offer geodata for a reasonable price. So we simply could not. This has changed this year and we can now look at options. First one is the Mannheim route touching the state for the first time.
Appreciate the Honesty lots! Truly! I must admit, i might have been a bit.... 'forward'... in my deduction, but the lack of central Württemberg Routes, was very obvious. This makes a lot more sense than what i assumed, and i am happy that it changed. Looking forward to what you're now finally allowed to cook.
Struggling to find the aggression or the sentence that DTG is a bad company..... Not every "negative" feeback is meant offensive.
Aas I've said previously, just read Mr R's posts with the voice of the snotty kid from Polar Express in your mind. All will be well. then!
