TSW definitely would benefit from Speedlink style wagons, another thing that never got developed once modern only became the aim of the game.

Now without being a greedy gimme pig, what we need is a hint as to the next route, once Tom and the team have had a rest and a few beers to celebrate. With their ultimate skill set, Perth to Inverness in 1979 shouldn’t be so hard, along with a shiny new Class 26!

Two incredibly successful live streams. Less than a week now and we can all play it. I can't wait.

Agreed, looked amazing, so much playability with this one. It was an even better stream last night with a lot of questions answered.
It's surely going to be up the top of the list with the best routes in TSW so far. Incredible really how they only took 11 months to cram in all that detail into a huge route with a fairly small team.

Out of interest, does anybody know the kind of sales something like this route could expect to hit? I've no idea how niche the market is.

Interesting point I noticed on last night’s stream - Sim Track handled the scenarios rather than JT.

Word was years ago BR era stuff didn't sell. We then became inundated with modern day EMU routes.

Considering they’ve done 2 routes with over 2 years of dev time, they must be doing well enough to keep that kind of production up.

Blackpool branches must have sold well enough for them to justify making Preston to Carlisle.

I would like to think so. It maybe the way the BR routes were executed didn't appeal to many. TVL should have come with a Pacer and probably would have sold more.

I see JT moving north to the Carlisle - Glasgow stretch of the WCML. They could go south but not quite as scenic.

I have a feeling for more gameplay going South is the way. Carlisle to Glasgow is non stop Lockerbie to Carstairs although very complicated once North of Carstairs.

I doubt they will do Carlisle to Glasgow next. As on last night’s JT stream they expressed concern with the longer length and complexity around Glasgow pushing the limits of what they could do currently in terms of both time in development and system requirements (looking at you gen 8 consoles)

If I were to take a guess, they'd want to reuse the assets for Carlisle, so possibly their next route would be Carlisle to Newcastle.

Or they'll go south of Preston somewhere.

All I know is JT will be putting passion into whatever they do next. And that it will be British. They do have a loco add-on still to clean up and publish; as well as an update to BPO. so any new routes they are planning are likely only in the research phase currently.

As long as it is a similar era (BR) I'd be quite happy wherever their next route is.

However I'd quite like to see something more Western region next. I could see them doing Exeter to Paignton as some of their team built a freeware version for TSC.

Someone asked on their stream about doing Carlisle to Glasgow next and the answer was basically no. It's even further in milage (not by a lot) but the issue they said was that once you hit the Glasgow outskirts it becomes urban and would be way too much to make with that mileage of 100+ miles. I'm on them doing Preston to Crewe or Preston to Manchester if they stick in the area, or maybe move somewhere else.

An easy win for them would be to fill in the gap between Preston and Manchester Victoria. I'd love to see Victoria getting the Just Trains treatment with a realistic timetable. It was a great place to watch trains in the 80s but the Dovetail version is let down by the sparse timetable. With route hopping, we'd be able to drive all the way from Leeds to Carlisle.

I have only been able to watch part of the stream so far. Have they mentioned anywhere on it what layers the Series S is going to get? I have only heard that gen 8 is getting less, but nothing definitive about Series S either way. Unless they have said something and I just missed it.

I’d definitely love a re-do of Victoria in that Period. DTG’s was good for the time but it’s definitely a sparse environment.

JT doing a BR Diesel loco would be great too, love what they’ve done with the 47 so far, really interested in what they could come with on a ground up unit.

Imagine Leeds and Manchester Victoria if NTP was remastered. Trains every couple of minutes

100%. I'll all in on an NTP Remaster bringing it up to standards. A great unique route with the gradients, tunnels and scenery. Just needs some updated TLC and a timetable to go with it. So much more stock available to go on the route now as well. Drop a Class 25 or 110 DMU DLC and you're sorted! I'd even be fine with them bringing it more to JT 1986ish era so we can also have the Pacer on there.

With the 87 and, all but confirmed Class 86, they may want to stick with something where they could be used again. Rugby to Crewe via the Trent Valley might be a possibly, or even Rugby to Stafford via both TV and New Street with the new train a Class 304 or 310 EMU.

Still prefer the Highland Main Line and a 26 though!

We used to see 86s and 87s being dragged through Victoria in the 80s.:)

Hell, 87s were dragged from Nuneaton to Bedford in the 80s and 90s before running under their own power to and from St Pancras. A MML from say St Pancras to Leicester in the 80s could include them as well

I'll be doing some route learning in the 390, any excuse to throw it into some of the tight curves in this route.
Then I'll learn to play the 87 properly.

Just no words to the amount of extra liveries comes with this dlc. Very impressive. There was barely a dlc in tsw with more than one variant or paint coming with the rolling stock. The only exception "blackpool branches" lol.

I think thats how it should be when buying a dlc. Full of surprises and the situation players cant wait to get their hands on. An enjoyment of getting even more than expected, which justifies the price.

I found my self very often annoyed by excuses of devs, which resulted in a "no buy" of routes or dlcs i was interested. And looking at JTs effort, unfortunately this proofes the community wasnt so wrong with bold feedbacks about "lack of quality" or "lack of passion" of certain devs on dlcs.

Yeah, I said the other week that I'd love to see them do Preston - Manchester, even better if they could manage both via Bolton and Wigan NW. Not sure if trains from both those routes went into Victoria back in those days, though.

Preston to Manchester via Bolton, plus to Wigan via the WCML then to Manchester via both Atherton and Westhoughton would be a good addition. Go the extra miles and add Wigan to Southport too.

Is it? That's excellent. It bugged me when it was taken out considering the WSR 47 kept it.

That would finish me off, especially set in the late 1980s given that I lived almost adjacent to Swinton station :D Not gonna happen though :(

It would be great to see JT's version of Victoria given the NTP one is quite lacking - due to a combination of it being a TSW2 route but also missing obvious things like the legendary subway being replaced by a bridge :o

It depends on when they were fitted in reality :)

I'm guessing they'll stick to their current trajectory given the comments made on their long-reaching plans, but I'd love getting some Western hydraulics from JT - either a reworked 52 or even better a 42 Warship.

Watched the JT stream earlier this evening. Wow. Again. Absolutely blown away by this! The quality in modelling between these guys and (most of) the rest of the developers is night and day.
Yes, I’m aware they’re only putting out one route a year, however their team is MUCH smaller and seemingly are churning out top quality products YEARS after TSW began.

    Bring on next Tuesday.

They already did Exeter-Reading for TSC I think... it'd be great to see them rework that for TSW, although I too would love to see it with hydraulics. Westerns and double headed 37s on the quarry trains out of Westbury, drooooool! Westerns and Warships running Bristol-Reading, Bristol-Exeter... fantastic! 25s, 31s, 37s, 46s and 47s lurking menacingly in the wings, 03s at Bristol....

Just quickly scrolling through the Manual wants me to have a instant go on this route. How much detail and effort they put in the manual alone, its absolutely amazing. We are blessed to have developers like JT and TSG within TSW, so good quality content is assured, be it just some releases in a year time. I really can't wait to push the 87 up to Carlisle

Just saw some new early access videos from trainsimulator and we're getting something I've been waiting for ages mixed mk2a sets. As he was driving with a class 87 a service that isn't the standard bg tso fk bg formation. Really can't wait for tomorrow's release and stream

Finally a new type of BG coach. Up to now there is the bg with commonwealth bogie.

Jt brings the b4 bogie equiped bg coach. Running 110mph.

I guess with the one of sos (leaf spring type), its "complete" now.

Would be good if some BR1 bogies were done as these were very common under parcels vans up until the RES conversions took over.

JT have said there will be a special announcement concerning the route on tonight’s stream. Wonder if it will be to do with the 86 or maybe they’ve snuck Windermere or Heysham in.

I would like if it was Windermere. Briefly lived in Kendal for 5 months in early 1977 and was right at the end of Kettlewell Road virtually next to the line as it heads off to Burneside. Though most of the memories of that time are not that great - the locals (certainly on the estate where we moved to) were not that tolerant of people from outside the area and we got lots of grief, but I do have fond recollections of watching the trains and stretching my pocket money for a couple of rides to Windermere and back!
