Hi, I believe it's about time an Irish route should be added. Below I have proposed, I believe, a Great idea and opportunity to add in a high density route. Dublin Coastal Commuter: This route is one of ireland busiest rail routes with a range of services including DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit), Commuter and Intercity services. The route I have proposed follows from Greystones - Drogheda via Dublin City Centre + Howth Branch Line. The entire route is a length of 45.77mi (73.67km) (Including the 5.5km Howth Branch) which is not at all crazy long, also as its a city route I understand detail has to be put in. This route has a range of services including DART services serving all stops from Greystones to Malahide / Howth on the 1.5kv Electrified lines, Commuter services served by DMUs on unelectrified lines and Intercity services to Belfast and Wexford which are run by DMUs and Loco Hauled trains respectively. I understand three locomotives is a lot for one route but it was made possible for Nadvehkehr Dresden. Locos: Class 8100 EMU: A historic EMU in Irish Rail built in 1980s to serve DART services and still does to this day. I believe this should be added as opposed to other Classes because of the nostalgiac feel to it. It also a lovely train. Class 29000 DMU: The class 29000 Is a DMU built by CAF in the early 2000s. This train runs Commuter services from Dublin to Drogheda and other Commuter Routes. This DMU would be essential as it is the workhorse of the uneleftrified track after Malahide Class 201 LOCO + De Deitrich Stock: These pair are incredibly important to the line as they serve essential Intercity services from Dublin to Belfast and have done so for years. I believe this should be added to have a fair variant of Commuter, Semi-Fast Commuter and Intercity services on the line. Another Loco that could be added is the 22000 DMU built by Hyundai Rotem which plays an important role in Intercity and Commuter services. Key Locations: Bray - Greystones Sceneic Railway: The section of railway from Bray to Greystones is absolutely breathtaking and is amazing to journey on Dublin Conolly Station and Surroundings: Dublin Connolly (formerly Amiens Street) is one of two Main termini in Dublin along with Heuston in the west. With 7 Platforms, Connolly is an incredibly busy terminus and through station. Howth: Howth is one of Dublin most scenic areas and would be brilliant to see in game Malahide, Rogerstown, Balbriggan, and Drogheda Viaducts: These amazing viaducts look over towns, estuarys and bays. The play an incredi ly role in the railway and would add such a nice feel to the route Entire Coast: for the majority of the route you are next to the coast which such a visual advantage to routes like this. I hope my proposal is considered and an Irish Route could finally be added. I have added photographs of the LOCOs named in the other they appeared that I have taken myself. Thank you for reading.
Would love to see some Irish content but my preferred period would be the classic loco hauled era. Back to back Class 121’s on the Rosslare trains.
Really bad idea IMO. probably like 5 services a day. No variety whatsoever. I'd prefer if the first irish route was modern day
