Hello everyone! As one of the main developers of the Pacific Surfliner Map Enhancement for Train Simulator Classic(RW), I am pleased to announce my work on the Pacific Surfliner for Train Sim World (TSW). I have been off and on working on this map on my free time for the past 10 months. My plans at the moment is to go to Oceanside, then expand on another time to San Diego. I have started adding scenery and landscape details, though I’ve encountered some challenges with ground texture painting, as it occasionally shows a grid pattern unexpectedly. Below are some previews of an area I’ve been working on over the past week, dedicating a few hours each day to it. [CP Orangethorpe facing CP Fullerton] Please Note that this project is gonna take some time to release, so don't get your high hopes up Hope you enjoy more of these updates in the coming future!
I enjoyed the original in TSC so looking forward to this. I remember the TSC version actually has waves and surf rolling up the beaches, can TSW replicate this?
If I recall there is an blueprint that is in TSW assets on a route, I can probably reuse that or try to make my own in the future when i get to doing the coastal environment My only main issue is stations atm. I'll have to recreate all the stations in blender.
That would be cool. Take your time and have fun building this great route. The main thing is that you enjoy it too.
I'm just wondering if this project would effect DTG making their own version of the route? Matt stated in the past that he would like to see the OC line at some point, but it now makes me wonder if they'll move their focus to another LA area route if they want to tackle the area. Or would they go the route they did with Brandon on Boston Providence?
We have no plans for the foreseeable for this route. Of course there's nothing to say that won't change - but - I see no sign of that as a potential currently. Everyone has their own interpretation of an area, too, so it really doesn't matter too much if there's more than one either. Look forward to seeing the project progress! Matt.
Little sneak peek of an area in Los Angeles I'm working on, doing small sections to get certain places that are hard done first, then moving on to the easier areas. Saddened that I can't use the Amtrak yard assets that are from TSC.
Well I'm sure you could convert them, it's just that would possibly create issues with distributing the route.
YOOOOOOOOOOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A TSW REMAKE FOREVER BRO! yo hope this comes out rlly good good luck!
Here is some more progress with LAUS revamping and adding more detail around the station, Still a WIP as you can tell but more updates in the future. I just haven't had the time with giving the public eye more eye candy! There is plenty of more pictures but these will do for now Regarding this project. I have been having zero time in the past months to do much progress regarding to the holidays worktimes, but the time with that has passed and the progress on the route will continue in a much faster progress now regarding my days off.
Yes, it's a long Route. I could see it at Railworks, but the speed is good. However, there is a way to break it up, starting with a coaster for Oceanside and then extending it to Los Angeles in the future. That would be fantastic. The problem is Licensing.
