The Manual will also be available to download from the Steam Store page once released. 8th Generation Consoles Due to the technical limitations of 8th Generation consoles, the level of some of the available features are reduced and a separate, reduced timetable will be available to players on those consoles: No Road Traffic throughout the route The timetable will consist only of Class 87 services. Other locomotives and units included in the Add-on (Class 47, 08, 101 DMU) will be available to operate in Free Roam. Additional service layers from other Train Sim World Add-ons will not be available. Known Localisation Issues We wanted to share a few known translation issues that will impact certain languages when playing the new West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle line from release. We weren’t able to correct these in time for the launch and will look to fold these into an update shortly afterwards to help avoid as much confusion for those impacted as possible. This refers to French, German, Chinese and Russian translations, please see the full details below: Training module voiceover subtitles for French/German languages are currently in English instead of the respective set language. The route name “West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle” is not consistently translated for Chinese and Russian players in-game, which may cause some confusion selecting the route, or finding it via Route Hopping menus. Some buttons on the Class 87 have English-only text across all languages during the Introduction, and whilst they aren’t needed to complete the tutorial, this may cause some confusion. The buttons this impacts are: Bardic Lamp Front Tail Lamp Rear For French players, both the ‘WCML: Preston - Carlisle Introduction’ and ‘Class 87 Introduction’ have a single voiceover line in English instead of in French. We’ll let you know once we’re able to address these translation issues in a post-launch update, and we look forward to seeing all the community screenshots once it releases next week!
good to seee that the amout of 8 gen services been spoken about before realse can this happen more please its very useful too know
Darn it, why can't it be Tuesday already haha. Nice to see information about 8th Gen and localisation issues days before the release as well, so players won't be caught unawares.
I hope the ETS/ETH is properly simulated on the Mk3a coaches since these are the first coaches in TSW that actually use it to power lights (Just like HEP on US stock) and both the 47 and 87 ETH features actually will operate the lights on the Mk3a's. Another thing to note (And I personally doubt this will be simulated) but when Mk3a's are being hauled with a 47, the ETH voltage actually varies depending on the throttle setting on the 47, this has the effect of the MA/air con in the coaches changing sound with the engine. I know because I rode the LSL Scotrail set during a diesel gala in 2023 and I noticed how the MA sound changed as 47712 throttled up and down.
Excellent manual. One issue (and given that I have a brain disorder I may have missed it even if I was staring at it), I can't find anything on the keyboard bindings for PC. Does anyone know whether the Class 87 master controller is will be "A" and "D" keys and also, I struggle with the current Class 101 gears so want to know if anything has changed with those keybindings. Once again, my apologies if I've missed something obvious. I have blanks sometimes.
