What Sort Of These Do You Think We’ll See In December?

I'd be quite surprised if they did, especially since they've come hot off the heels of WCML:S (and the upcoming patch). Anyways, I would really like to finally see some South-Western-Waterloo-based action!!! Waterloo to Guildford via Woking and Epsom and Hampton Court please (and throw in a 455 for good measure)!!!

 

maybe the big announcement is happy festivus dlc and the locomotive is metal pole. and you have scenario's like Airing of grievances and feats of strength, and you unlock new scenario called the human fund.

 

Why is there such confidence that it will be British? It can be outside the triangle of Germany- England-United States

 

Yeah, and I have seen a few people state it's going to be a route or loco from x country, but it might also be a feature that applies to all routes or some new Dovetail Live implementation. One of these would make more sense imo as DTG says it's something the players will enjoy, seeing as a specific route or loco might not be enjoyed by a broad group of players.

 

I also can't see the special surprise being a country specific route as that won't appeal to everyone. I can see it being some rather underwhelming although I hope it isn't.

 

The only way DTG can achieve a colossal reaction is by announcing Rush Hour 2 instead of TSW 6.

Also ECML_S can be a core route, not a midyear DLC.

 

Finally after a gazillion requests a new modern UK freight locomotive that can allow the 66 to take a break?

 

Can't imagine that's the big announcement.
It's not really a remaster or overhaul;DTG MP, mentioned doing a few bits on live stream a while ago.
Just hope it's not a lead balloon announcement, something genuinely big.

Could possibly be something to do with BML? Did they put the work into that route to give it a facelift maybe 700? But then I think you guys are right about it being something not country specific?

Otherwise the big one I'd love to see is them fixing steam which would serve the whole game and different countries but I can't see it happening

 

Well they do finally have a Freightliner license now, the only branding exception is the newest orange livery, but it goes from the silver and red containers in WCML Shap all the way up to the green and yellow livery. So immediately I think of the 57 and 70, but that being said I would be very surprised if such a loco suddenly appeared so soon after the license was obtained (I believe it only happened after TSW5 was released). I could however see an upcoming route featuring a Class 66 of a newer subtype in Freightliner branding, which would be a good start.

 

I'm hoping for a 91, but recently watched the TSW5 Let's Play stream and Matt said no plans for one. Could of course just be something maybe not in the works at the time idk, but makes it feel unlikely. The season of reveals - anyone know where the videos will be posted please? YouTube I'm guessing?

Where on earth would you run the 93 though, AFAIK they aren't in proper service yet. Happy to be corrected though.

I got over excited reading about 100mph freight wagons getting paired with the 93 on Wikipedia and got ahead of myself.
The tri-power operating,is right up Starmers' street though.

 

I wonder how long each video will be and if they will release follow up articles and screens with details etc for each day!

 

I wonder if the special surprise is some kind of new feature like platform and train announcements. TSW 4 had some major new features such as free roam, formation designer and suspension, but TSW 5 hasn't really had any big major features yet. Maybe after suspension was delayed so much they don't want to announce a new feature until they are sure it is ready

For the UK gameplay pack I'm hoping it is a class 57, though realistically it might be different enough from a class 47 that it would be considered a new loco rather than a gameplay pack

A lot of very optimistic suggestions on this thread, although I wouldn't be expecting whatever is announced on the 20th to actually go live on that day, I can't imagine them taking the risk on patching anything just as the office closes for Christmas hols.

I mean they are announcements, not releases. I don't expect anything they announce the coming month to release at the time too

 

Damn, I read this thread + winter survey right before going to bed. As a result, when dreaming I met Matt, who said that we were just annoying him with too often requests to make P42DC, that he decided to notify me in advance that Genesis was already in development, and so that we would stop including it in the most anticipated US locomotive in the survey.

 

Another Overground line is coming, with Capitalstar

 

You have got to be kidding me... A short end to end London Overground line thats not even the entirety of the full route?! What a hugely disappointing announcement. I'd have thought we'd at least get the full NLL to Richmond? That is just diabolical! Will definitely be giving this a miss...

How can you not even bother to do the full route on such a short section?! Genuinely had to double take.

 

The Overground route is the Mildmay Line from Stratford to Willesden Junction. Class 378 is the new train with the route. Much like Goblin/Suffragette Line, it's a shorter route, although it could be an interesting one.

 

I would cut some slack given that it's Johannes doing it on his own. Perhaps if he builds the rest of the track to Richmond (his original PC Editor project was the 'whole of London') there is always the potential for extension in the future.

December is the Christmas break, so I hope the next roadmap will be announced in March next year.

 

Each to there own... Definitely not for me. I understand longer routes where mileage is limited. But this is literally around 17.5 miles. To finish it half baked is just a utterly silly decision. This a short end to end route, and not completely finished? Come on...

If it caters for some then good for them, but for me. Nah... Not a chance.

 

I appreciate the work put into the new Overground route but doing a metro (well suburban) line and cutting its length is a big immersion killer for me. But I’m glad to finally see the Capitalstar in the game

 

Agree, solo or not, surely you can hold back the release and have a product in a more complete representation of something? It’s a solo developer, with help from DTG (presumably) but this is also someone who has shown off so much more in the forums. It does feel a bit weird.

 

Well that is not the start I would have hoped for. I mean good luck to the lad creating it if he is doing it by himself, but I have played Goblin (just about managed a full run in one direction) and have no desire to return to any LO route, especially with a 378. Obviously all routes will have similarities, but this does seem as if it is not going to be any different to Goblin, just with an even more restricted cab view, as, in fairness to DTG, the scenery on Goblin is very high as I am sure this will be.

The North London Line will not be one that's on my purchasing radar, that is a certainty.

I do like the Capitalstar (in my opinion it looks better than the Aventra), happy to see it in game. One would think that if you do an Overground Line, you'd go all the way from one end to another, but I reckon I could get used to Willesden Junction. Maybe. Probably.
