TSW 5. During the tutorial when I shut down the engine cab as stated and travel back to the cab car and follow the set up procedure. The train won't move. No matter how much throttle I use. It's like the brakes haven't released on the engine cab. What am I doing wrong

    1) Did you set the independent (straight) brake in Cab 1? You can't release it from Cab 2 (it's also unnecessary, as shutting down Cab One automatically applies the train brake)

    2) Did you leave a door open?

More details about Loco/Cab Car and route helps.

Based on the context I'm going to guess you are referring to the BR 101 Expert DLC (ignore if not).

There is a bug in the tutorial that makes it so that you can remove the reverser before setting it to "Off". This means that the locomotive is still active and when you activate the cab in the cab car you get a conflict of which vehicle is to be the master. ZWS (the multiple unit protocol) gets a fault and no traction is possible.

The workaround is to either use keybind controls to set the reverser to "Off" or to carefully move the reverser with analog controls to the Off position, taking care not to click on the "Remove reverser" click spot until the reverser is actually in "Off". It's a weird bug with the way scenarios work when you have multiple tasks for the same "step" (if you pay attention to what happens during this sequence both the "remove reverser" and "reverser" click spots appear at the same time).

This setup is nice for something like the train data input (so you get all the buttons showing up as click spots and can make them go away in whatever order you please), but very dangerous here since it basically ignores the logic for the mechanical interlocks of the levers (that you can't remove the reverser when it is not in the Off position IRL).

Also, just to be safe (in case there is some other scenario bug shenanigans going on), make sure that the MU switch is in "ZWS" before leaving the locomotive.

It seems the problem is not resolvable by doing any steps. I was able to resolve this by using “Reset Simulation Physics” from Options. After that do the CAB 2 steps and move forward.
