Maybe a P42DC as the surprise or a Metro North route, or even ToD4 coming to older routes

what 4 defeats in a row does to a man.
aside from that, i actually think it’s a better roadmap than usual

Are we going to see non Leven timetabled services on Fife Circle with the 158 too ? Last few journeys I've made from both Cowdenbeath and Dalgety Bay sides of the circle to Edinburgh have been 158 rather than 170.

"Marston Vale full services including playable ECS moves" is mentioned in the article. This makes me think the gameplay pack will include a version of the ex-D stock train. Hard to think what else.

A roadmap for Europe and the UK.

Nothing remotely new or interesting for US players.

I think it's a bit of a red herring, It looks like that is actually 2 4 car units.

Nevermind, that pesky tree is in the way and I thought it looked suspiciously like 2 4cars

The only real thing is the "gameplay pack" for San Bernardino, which I have no clue what that could be, given that no other loco in game can be used for Metrolink, and I doubt DTG would give BNSF a GP38-2.

And HIS is still dead silent on their stuff.

For those who want to get in the mood for a proper locomotive, here's a little cabride on an E94:

There's even a warning at the beginning that the video will shake violently when the loco starts working. It's a beast of a loco and I'm very excited. Didn't think we'd ever get a loco like this in-game, a so-called Altbauelok (literally: old construction electric loco). It's funny to think that she will rank amongst the oldest locos in TSW with the first locos being delivered in 1940. That's only 6 years after the first LMS Jubilee.

OldVern, that video should be something for you. They didn't turn on the traction motor fans, so you can enjoy the sound of the traction motors clearly.

I‘m definitely hoping this is the case. Told myself to wait until the Leven extension is released to buy Fife Circle. It’s turning out to be quite the wait, but I‘m hoping it‘ll be worth it. Hopefully it’s on sale on PlayStation soon.

Hold on a second… isn’t the Marston Vale line almost 30km long? How can they add full services, are they going to add the entire branch?

Finally, we would get a major WCMLS improvement featuring both scenery and timetable update, although I already installed the brillant EP and new 2024 timetable made by community members, I still look forward to the release of this update and enjoy the updated WCMLS. Even that it takes DTG three months to do something that they should have done in the development of WCMLS, and this route shouldn't be released in such an unacceptable condtion back in September.

One more question, would DTG fix the bug that cause some services unable to get Platinum?

I presume they mean the full timetable rather than the full route which, as you say, would be as long as the route we already have.

Understand the frustration, but most of the European content is now being produced by 3rd parties. What the US content needs is for three or four developers to come on board. Iron Horse looks to be the first, but additional is required to give it a constant feed of DLC.
I can see the UK stuff getting to the point that we could be having monthly DLC releases as we have about 7 or 8 now online with it.
Not sure how Dovetail can change that of nobody is stepping up?

I think the loco gameplay pack for the UK will be the voyagers. Just trains one I think is an 86 purely because it makes sense as the 86 was on TSC on the route

The JT one will be a new train, and yes, and 86 looks certain, but the DTG one won't be an entirely new train. When they say "gameplay pack", that means adjusted versions of trains we already have, with at most a new set of wagons.

    Kinzigtal Gameplay pack candidates:

    * The ICE-T with green stripe
    * The O:BB ICE-T (only the logos are different)
    * The 5-car ICE-T
    * The 423 with RMV stripe (which should have been included anyway)
    * The Euro ICE3M
    * The Retro 401 power car
    * Another livery for the Vectron/Taurus/almost any loco

I've got a question about the 800 new timetableservices coming to WCML. I assume these 800 services are not including the coming gameplaypacks?

Also, I hope you will first optimize the game further before adding all these new services? Because with the all the current performance issues, I feel the last thing WCML needs is 800+ more services in its timetable...

One of the third party developers said a while back that a Voyager would have to come as part of a new route, as it's an expensive train to develop and would not be financially viable as a standalone DLC.

People are trying to count the coaches ... isn't the fact it is numbered 710377 a giveaway?

Yes. It's a buzzword which don't half grate with a cynic like me. ;)
Don't believe the hype! If that's one lesson we've all learnt recently then that'll be nice. Exciting, even :D

Metrolink has only owned a total of four ex-Amtrak F40PH, of which only one actually made it into service as a work loco and switcher. As far as I know it never saw any regular revenue service.

Well that doesn't mean it couldn't be made just for fun. I mean we also got stuff like that gray SD40 for Sand Patch Grade and that's not entirely prototypical either.

On the web there seem to be photos of the Metrolink F40 with passenger cars. I don't know if they are empty stock moves or if there were any regular services, but whatever they were, could be recreated in TSW.

No fun allowed in these parts lol. That gray SD40 ended up causing substitution to be borked on US Freight because the accuracy police complained about it and the UP SD70 showing up on SPG and the whole thing hasn't worked right since.

I'm sure someone will be along to explain, "well actually" , that it was a good thing.

Anyway US content is certainly not DTG's priority anymore if it ever was.

Never said that it couldn't. It was also used as an occasional spare unit and in front of special trains, so they could definitely come up with something for it to do, even if it's only one unit.

Yeah, 800 was an odd unit. Only one Metrolink ever used as their other 3 never saw service.

Also it was retired in 2019, way after DTG ever visited Metrolink, so I don't see it happening.

That CSX SD40 was a lazy attempt for DTG to sell content, couldn't even be bothered to change the number front or ranges to a more correct one....

The image of the 710 on WCML update is a 710/3 meaning it is going to be part of the gameplay pack. On the bottom, it is 710 377

Liam has since stated that it’s not part of the pack & isn’t a /3, someone’s just added a carriage & changed the text.

To me, this is the saddest plan of any TSW game plan released. I'm playing on PS5, I bought an expensive TSW5 license and I can't play this game. On a big TV, blurry textures are very annoying and spoil the whole game. I have to wait for a fix to come out in maybe half a year. In this situation, I will not buy anything from DTG again until they get the game working. It's a big disappointment for me.

In the Roadmap it mentions "Sleeper Static" when covering the timetable improvments for WCML South. Does this mean we are getting the Caledonian Sleeper as a static train? When covering the number of services per loco for WCML Over Shap, it's mention that the 87 will have 12 Sleeper Diagrams so does this mean we are getting some form of a sleeper train in Over Shap or am I looking more into it then what is actually there?

wait. The Croc has a steam whistle (most likely powered by compressed air) so if this is done right, we could finally have quillable whistles?

Yep, many early electric locos did. The Br 110 also has one (in real life and TSW).

Personally, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for that. It’s probably a right hassle to implement for little if any payoff. I’d like to see it (particularly on the steam locos) but realistically speaking, the time is probably better spent on physics, audio, etc.

No Roadmap in Dec for sure - season of reveals instead. Haven't seen anything official with next roadmap date, but maybe Jan 2025?

They said there wouldn't be one in December, I would definitely expect one in January though as they can't do 15 new annoucements and then not talk about them for 2 months.

Maybe so, but DTG usually shuts up shop for a couple of weeks over the holidays and some employees are gone for even longer in the New Year. So maybe yes and maybe no on the Roadmap.

Remember that Festival of Rail is usually at the start of Feb, which is opened with a Dovetail Direct and a Roadmap. What with DTG employees taking some time off, as Crosstie says, I think we'll head straight from the Season of Reveals straight into Feb's Roadmap.
