I guess (and really hope ) that it will be a route in the north of Germany, but which one exactly I don't know. I hope they will finally make German diesel locs since those are highly requested. Just guesses, since nothing is officially leaked
Could be anything really. Rostock has been rumoured for a long time, but still. Could be anything. I have a gut feeling though it will be DoStos once again... maybe with a different engine for a change. Maybe.
...and RT or the Leipzig S-Bahn has about zero to do with what is traditionally considered S-Bahn in Germany. But that's DB's fault, not DTG's Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Ruhr Area... any of those would be interesting.
Some heavy freight action with the DB BR 232 Ludmilla on the Seddin route would be amazing. But let us see what DTG has in store for us . Cheers
For example, yes! Though in the Ruhr Area it' less like each city has its own S-Bahn, rather it's one continous network (S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr) connecting that whole conglomeratrion of big cities located next to each other, all the way from Unna (near Dortmund) to Cologne, where it connects to the Cologne S-Bahn - which is sometimes and is sometimes not described as a part of the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn. Officially it's its own thing though. You could check out my Cologne-Duisburg and Duisburg-Dortmund route suggestions from ages ago, they would both have S-Bahn galore among other things
That would be an interesting line no doubt, Mönchengladbach-Neuss-Düsseldorf-Wuppertal-Hagen. S8, plus RE4, RE13 along the whole length. Plus RE7 and RB48 in the Wuppertal-Hagen area. What would make it difficult, at least if set in too recently a timeframe, that virtually all of those RE/RB lines are served by a different private (meaning non-DB) TOC. Licensing issues again...
DTG could of course do one of a few things: Either set the route in an era around 2005, when it was all still run by DB. That way, we would also get some nice new engines, coaches, cab cars, among them being a few real classics. BR 110, BR 111, n-Wagen, x-Wagen, older generations of DoSto (cab) cars... Or they do what they did on RSN: Build the route in the modern form and give just any random DB train they feel like including. That would be the less favourable option imo. Or they acquire the license for at least one of those private companies. Eurobahn would probably be the wisest choice gameplay-wise, as they operate the RE13 which runs the entire distance of that route, and fill up the rest with some recycled DB material. Not perfect, but that might be a compromise I could live with. Also, Eurobahn has been running the route for a very long time now, so we could still get those classic trains on routes that DB stopped operating much later only. RB48 and RE7 namely.
German diesels need to be added to TSW. I'd agree with the Ludmilla 232. What about the V200? We could get a 1960s German route.
Yes, agreed. I did follow the thread where the developers pretty much denied that route was happening.
