No but when you spend 100s of pounds is it too much to ask for a LITTLE freebie is it

"I" and "most of us" just reinforced what I previously stated.
    It's a sense of entitlement.
No one "owes" you their time for free.
If it's fixing a bug or patch then that's a different story. That's getting something up to the level it was supposed to be at purchase.
Additional content however is new and should be paid for.
When I bought the Antelope Valley route, I didn't assume that it would get me "everything in the future ever associated with this route or train." I just expected the route and stock in the game package.
The fact that you have spent hundreds of dollars on DLC doesn't make you any better than someone who has only bought one DLC.
It just means you have more product you purchased for more money.
    No one "owes" you anything.
The contract was concluded when that content was delivered.
If DTG decides at some point to reward veteran players, that's generosity on their part not an obligation that is owed to you.
It'd be like buying a computer, then going back 3 years later and saying "You owe me your latest computer for free because I bought a computer from you 3 years ago."
    That's silly.

Was it not you moaning about sales not being available when it suited you? So even then you're not paying full price.

Look, I wish to try and point this out politely, but this isn't a charity. DTG are a company that generate money to develop the game through revenue. They are NOT a charity. We get freebies in the way remasters, which is enough for me. You can't go through life with such a self entitled attitude that everything has to be free, cheap, or exist to just benefit you. There are free Sims available such as Open Rails if wanting free things is your style. The world doesn't operate around you or for your convenience. I'm sorry if that sounds rude, but that's putting it mildly.

Criticism is valid when the quality of the game is being debated. However, always seeking freebies or discounts when no is twisting your arm to purchase a product that money and manpower has gone into just comes across as a ponce.

Every one loves little free bits here are there... But you seem to take it to the extreme.

Look messages don't often translate well. But just take it as some firm advice.

And a random question for the Man wanting the free stuff, if you've got everything in this game why do you post a fair few threads about is this route or that route any good, surely you would know as you've said yourself that you've spent X amount of pounds/dollars or currency of your choice on everything, my mind boggles......

Also WSR remaster was free, GWE remaster is free. Koln-Aachen timetable update I think is free too.

So if they spent 100's of £ they should have those routes and the freebies mentioned above as well.

Drivable tube services are amazing! That will be fun. Also, what’s going on with the HST consist in the foreground of the last image? Different liveries, some with and some without branding.

HST's will come in full sets of GWR/Blue or you can drive a select few with mixed livery Mk3's. Both mixed and full sets can be spawned in Free Mode too.

That sounds great, I didn’t even know about these mixed consists. They add so much character to routes like San Bernardino, will be a great addition to GWE.

The improvements to GWE sound absolutely amazing. I like the idea that we can drive on the Hammersmith and Circle Line for 3 stations. Makes me think that there is a future TSW route here in the pipeline?

What would be really nice and l would have no objection to paying for it, but an additional pack of all the Thames Branch lines to Henley, Marlow and Windsor with perhaps the Greenford line as well would be a fantastic and fabulous addition. Do you all agree???

At this point it doesn’t look like a remaster but more like it was never released in the first place, and it’s coming soon as a brand new route to TSW.

I hope your right as if GWE remaster becomes a new route we could possibly get some extensions that cover the branches and Oxford.

Not sure if it's been asked across any of the other GWE threads DTG Liam but will we be able to spawn all of the unbranded 387s in free roam too?

Regarding the GWE remaster: I‘m happy for the people interested in UK stuff- but I wonder why Cologne-Aachen didn’t get a similar treatment? Germany is the only country that hasn’t received a remaster yet and what better timing could have existed than with the new timetable?

I'm pretty sure GWE is in the same boat as WSR was and they are personal projects Liam is working on in his own time. :)

Because both Köln-Aachen and GWE are personal projects that individual devs did. What is and isn't done on them simply depends on what the dev who's working on them wants to do, and not on what is "fair" to the country involved.

It wasn't, it just got a TOD4 update. No scenery upgrades, no new timetable etc.

It was called "Upgrade". Wordplay. The timetable was also revised adding the Vectron services.

That would be great and or an extension to Oxford as GWE 2.0. Happy to pay the going rate for that too, particularly if we got a new train -either a 165 or the 180.

The Vectron services were added by the Vectron DLC, and they're just a few more freight trains added to the existing timetable, not a full-on rewrite. I just don't think that what was done to DRA is anywhere close to the amount of work that Liam put into West Somerset, Great Western Express, or Cathcart Circle, or anywhere near as transformative to the experience.

Unfortunately there are updates/upgrades only when a motivated member of DTG steps up and does it on his own it seems.

There are so many routes and locos left behind with bugs and a waste of opportunities to make them better. I don't think the company's policy will ever change. We should know by now.

    Many routes without TOD4.
No proper usage of newer DLCs on older routes (like ÖBB 1116 on Vorarlberg)
Different bugs on different versions of the same rolling stock. (like DB Dostos, BR182,..)
New features often don't get implemented on older locos.

    The list goes on..

So then! What do we think today will hold in store? New ballast textures? A brand new diorama of a man being arrested at Morley Station?
I'd say the update to WCMLS will hopefully/probably be announced, but the more silly predictions the better, it'll help a boring work day grind by!

I really hope that today is the day and Rivet reveal a new Swiss route!
Otherwise a new German route/loco would be nice!
And if there is nothing new, then maybe screenshots from Mannheim?

As they seem to bringing their other products into the mix, would actually be nice to see something for TSC as, going by comments in its forum, is largely abandoned of late. Even work on the beta version seems to have dried up. And the Fishing/Catan players must be feeling a bit left out, too.

No thank you, l don’t want Rivet fouling up another route. I never ever want to see another Rivet new route in the game, unless they can equal the quality of Just Trains. They can only prove this by bringing all their previous routes up to the same standard and we all know that will NEVER happen.

YES PLEASE. Totally agree OldVern. As long as we got a previously unreleased train and either extended mainline or branches (has to be all), I'd be more than happy to pay £30-35.

Elarthur if it was a backdated GWML with extended mainline to didcot and oxford with all the self isolate branches included would you pay more than 35 pounds.

Depending on what was included and how well it is executed, I'd probably pay anything up to around £45-50.

Would imagine the Catan players can be counted on two hands, and although there are more fishing lot, there are better fishing games out there I'm led to believe so the game probably isn't as popular as once was. Wouldn't mind some DLC for TSC, but I'd imagine it's all about finances and maybe TSC isn't coining it in.

And if they bring more routes like Bernina (maybe complete this time) it would be really nice!

Actually, some upgrade to the water effects for seas in general would be welcome. They often look too smooth, and lack any sea type wave effects. It's worse in stormy weather where it still remains flat calm...
I'd also like to see some kind of improvement to the Isle of Wight routes to include the 2 Napoleonic forts and something akin to the south coast around Portsmouth, even if it is a 2d background.
    For Example:-

Plenty of glaring errors in Bernina as well. There hasn’t been a Rivet route issued yet without glaring errors and scenery omissions.

Rivet routes have all been rushed, some more than others, but the lack of polish is clear to see.

Yep. Tried during sale and refunded after 40 minutes. Allegra physics appalling - using the speed set throttle the power was surging everywhere and kept overspeeding. That plus only 2/3 of the route.
