The TSW2020 interface does not link to any instruction manuals, which are needed to get the most out of TSW2020. Manuals are mentioned (for example, in the NTP "Diesel Locomotives Introduction" module), but are not actually available in the game.

TSW2020 is a fairly deep train simulator, with some complex functions modelled (signalling and safety systems, etc.), but the average PS4 player needs (and/or expects) everything to be explained from the very basics of railway operation and increasingly complex locomotive controls, to how the features in the UI and scoring system work.

Train simulators have been around in the consumer market for about 35 years. The 1985 ZX Spectrum game "Southern Belle" was playable, and easy enough to understand by ten year olds. But modern simulators are complex, and if you get stuck and there's no manual, most people will give up. There is no current manual available for TSW2020, for the PS4, at all. Even Southern Belle had a manual, with the software.

There is a new manual for TSW2020 for PC, and old manuals designed to include reference to PS4 for the original TSW(2018). Even these ill-fitting manuals can't be easily accessed. An updated manual (for PS4) needs to be available from within the game - if a live online DLC shopping section can be included in the UI, then a section with some instructions on how to use the software should be fairly easy to implement - it would help keep players "on board".

That's good information that could be better: no links available yet to manuals for TSW BR Heavy Haul or TSW Peninsular Corridor. Ideally, each module's manual in the appropriate language should be downloaded automatically along with that module to a folder of the user's choice, as has always been true in TS. Why is this so difficult?
Now that I think about it, a module's manual should be accessible while driving, as all of an activity's steps are in 2020 -- perhaps the best new feature of this iteration.

Yes, this would be a very nice feature: being able to access the manual for each route directly on your console.

but how much storage will it use and how will you use it with a controller and if you suggest adding in menus that takes time to do and program besides I would prefer it they made manuals for pc, xbox and ps4 online and viewable from any device (like a phone) so I can read it on my phone and follow it rather than having to remember it or keep going back and fourth between the menus and the game
