First of all, the train is facing the wrong direction in the Layover siding. All incoming trains from Boston have the loco in the lead position. That means when backing up on the main line to enter one of the Layover sidings, backing will be done with the Cab car and then the consist will enter the siding with the loco leading, Secondly, the scenario is inoperable due to lack of switch operations at two crossovers which prevents the train from entering the main line to run the scenario. See attached pics at those crossovers. No operable switches. Pic 1- 1st crossover. Pic 2 & 3 Map views of crossovers. No operable switches. Pic 4- No operable switch. The scenario has great potential...if the train can get to the mainline. Currently impossible. Have submitted a "Bug Report".
OK, partially resolved. I was looking for a manual switch to allow me to cross back over to the main line when I observed a YT video that showed automatic setting of a switch after you have come to a stop at the Object Marker, shut down the loco, proceeded to the Cab Car and set it up for travel. The second issue still remains that the train is incorrectly configured for proper direction. All MBTA trains coming from Boston have the loco in the lead. To head back to Boston, the Cab Car should be in the lead in the siding, heading east. It isn't. The scenario should start in the Cab Car, not the F40.
In many scenarios and even with timetable services, it often happens that the track selection is wrong. I wouldn't even know where to start with a list of all the examples I've come across so far. I just don't care anymore, because it won't change at all. They may even say you're right, but it doesn't matter, nothing will happen.
Yes, unfortunately you are correct. I did receive a response from DTG in regards to this scenario. After playing it and seeing how short it is and seeing the potential it could have by adding another crossover to the other main line track to continue a journey to Boston, amending this scenario is never going to happen. Sad.
