Having purchased the Class 52 and run a few services, I was running it on the scenarios. On the return excursion, and being rather bored, I decided to open the taps and see what it would do. The line out of Minehead is a fantastic straight and below are the results. Anyone else ever throw caution to the wind and 'go for it'?

Did it with a 66 on GWE. Got up to over 120 mph.

I did wonder! The track is surprisingly straight and any curves it takes with relative ease. I was worried about stations with a loop as most 'up' traffic uses these although on the scenario it routes you via the direct line and as such theres no need to brake for them. I'll call it science!!

105mph in the Class 47 BLU, on NTP, in a run from Manchester to Leeds, with a rake of 8x coaches. This included the main stops at Stalybridge, Huddersfield and Dewsbury, being actual stops. I think it can go even faster (downhill), if you don't brake for Dewsbury.

A few more high speed run tests with the 33 on WSR and the good old 40 on NTP.

Got up to 120 mph in the 45 last night on a passenger run. Basically full power after leaving Huddersfield heading to Stalybridge. Maxed out past Mossley and applied full service brake after hitting a yellow and managing to come to a standstill comfortably short of a red just at the exit to Stalybridge tunnel.

As long as you're under the line limit so you can pick up the +30 points every few seconds, it's all good, right?! :D

Reading is just 7.1 miles away, you'd better start braking now! :)

Oh yeah? You wanna be like that? See, I can be a responsible driver too! And as such, I'm very well aware that anyone visiting a heritage railway, wants predominantly one out of only a few things: Entertainment. Adventure. Thrill. An unforgettable experience for the whole family.

Well... they can have that. They. Can. Have. That. Mwahaha! 20190920004411_1.jpg
