Are there anywhere I can find Czech and Polish routes which you can install in TSC and play them as you play all other routes in English? And no complicated installation.
Not sure but Sim Rail is based in Poland and is a very good simulator similar to TSW. There are no complicated installations in any train simulator! Sim Rail with the cargo pack is 40% off in the steam sale until 6pm on December 20th. Best discount so far!!!
See the Hart van nederland & Freeware routes thread. A lot of good czech routes out there. What you mean by "easy" depends. It's free, so it requires some work from you. You have to click links, gather required asset packs, but finally it's the same everywhere. Copy Content to Content and Assets to Assets.
The one problem with Czech locos is the lack of information on how to get the locos running. Some have a Quick Start feature but others you need to go thru a load of switch turning and button pushing to get the thing to work
Youtube All pro locos (Pikku, Hekl) are documented and you can upload the PDF to online translators. Many have links to tutorial videos. Or the hungarian Giant (free walk mode) This could have been sold as an expensive ProRange loco but it's free. They have highly skilled modellers, scripters and routebuilders in Czechia and Hungary. (The most well-known being Dominik Chaloupka (kal000px / K-Trains), his Vectron is one of the most realistic locos in TSC.
I see you've added Career Scenarios. Honestly, no real simmer cares for silly points, there's no ranks to achieve and no career to begin. We can read signals and many play without HUD like in reality. In it for driving not scoring. You're not gonna find many career scenarios out there.
Like to the SimExpress CC6500 where you need to walk thru the loco to change some settings - like Gear ratio I did ask on a Czech group if the loco could be driven without activating all the safety systems. He did not reply so I did not buy the loco. I did get the CD InterJet pack from K_Trains having seen and travelled on that stock https://peter749.piwigo.com/picture?/43459/category/493-june_2022 https://peter749.piwigo.com/picture?/46418/category/574-may_2024
K-trains Vectron You can either go through the loco setup manually or or use a shortcut for three setup phases. Shift + 6 MIREL (Shift + 7 ZWS (MU)) Shift + 8 ETCS Shift + 9 SIFA Shift + 0 LZB/PZB
But can you run the loco without any of these systems? The CD 150 for example can be set to ignore the Mirel for example The CD 380 can be set to run as if it is going around a test track without any Signal info I'm too old to start learning new stuff like this when I can run it without
Career makes the driving more realistic. Standard routes are not realistic as there you do not have to care about speeding, stopping at stations and so on!
Because you ignore the speed restrictions to reach the stops on time If you are driving a Standard Scenario and fail to stop at a station the you fail to complete the scenario. I did one yesterday on a new route and I was looking round the station and forgot to release the doors - so at the end it said "You Failed to complete the scenario successfully" I think you are confusing Standard scenarios where you have a timetable and a set number of stops to make with a Quick Drive scenario where you decide if you wish to stop at a station or not and you cannot fail in it.[/QUOTE]
That's your decision. There is no such thing as a Standard route, it's just some scoring in scenarios that play out exactly the same no matter what which you can convert yourself if you like. Feels more I've been wasting time answering to a post of yours. Stick to Steam only content then.
And it is waste of time for me to keep on telling that career is as realistic as it can be. In real life on the railway you have a timetable to follow or try to follow. I am working as a traindriver in real life and have done it for over 17 years so I know how it works in the railway. Yes you know a lot about TSC and that I am thankful for if you have a problem I or others can ask you. I like and enjoy career scenarios and I am not playing standard except with the DB BR 218 which I like to play and also have seen that in real life at Lübeck station. That is a beautiful loco. And now I have just started to learn and drive the Vectron loco.
So as one ex Driver to another. If you train is running late for any reason what do you do? Do you drive the train faster than you should to make up time or do you just arrive late at the next stop? The problem with Career Passenger Scenarios is they don't give the correct amount of time to get from one stop to the next and you have to drive like a Formula 1 driver to keep time - which if you have driven trains you would know that is wrong.
I only drive freighttrains so do not have to worry about passengers. And yes you can catch up time while driving freighttrains by hoping not need to slow down or stop because of other faster trains to pass me and I only drive in the night so there are not many passengerwindow)trains out even that you drive the correct speed.
You only drive half the time on half the traffic, so that would (mathematically) make you even less. Are you aware of Timetabled scenarios....they're a standard type with (surprise, surprise.....) a timetable you need to stick to.
So you know what time your freight train will depart and where you get off it but do you have to know the time you pass intermediate stations and junctions - I suspect not. You just get on and drive. With a Career Scenario for a freight service you leave at a set time and arrive at the destination at a set time. Not much skill involved in doing that. Which country are you diving your real trains in?
Peter, how much score does it give you in real life calling at, let's say, Clapham Junction? And is there a device that displays the score in the cab? And are freight services starting with 1000 points in real life or do you get score based on passing checkpoint in time? Curious. And if someone needs score supervision to prevent them from speeding, they are probably a very undisciplined driver in real life...
Not much skill in that? Have you ever been driving freighttrains? Do you know how heavy freighttrains are. We have 1900 tons on the hook on almost every train we drive with just one loco(TRAXX 7500 hpor Vectron 8700 hp). It is passenger trains you do not need skills to drive. And the other problem to drive in my country is that it is not flat. It have hills to climb and slow speed. So the risk is that you can get stuck which has happen to me once so far in my 17 years of driving. And the other problem is all the maintenance on the railway which makes you have to stop while other trains in the other direction have to pass before you can continue. And all the stupid people which is running on the tracks and the police has to come and take them away before you can continue to drive and that makes you late. And it happens that trains pulls down the overhead line which makes the electrcity disapear och you have to wait until they have fixed it. And on doubletrack they drive single track because of work or other problems. So there are much more problem on the railway than you expect. About where I liveand work is not important here.
This all has very little to do with the fact that the only difference between scenario types is the evaluation screen. If that's of such importance for you, fair enough, anyone can play TS as they prefer. But - you're missing out on what the game has to offer.
I gave up depending on DTG evaluation screens. I keep a note of what I have done on my own database. Some of the evaluations are not possible others are over ambitious. I prefer the scenarios where you start with 1000 pts and lose points by making mistakes ( not timing events). These are more prevalent on the US freight routes. These are great and really chill.
I'm on level 120. Still no promotion. I should be CEO of a railway company now. At some point, it turned to -1.
I had just short of 20 years as a Freight Guard then a Passenger Guard. !0 years as a driver before I came off and went in to the planning offices - (health reasons) Not sure why you think driving passenger trains is easy? Maybe they are in your country because you move a single lever for stop and go? With a passenger train you are expected to keep time & stop in the correct place at a station. On a freight we just departed when the time was ready and ran as the signals allowed. One last thing In the game what is the difference to running a Career freight scenario and a Standard freight scenario?
Career you have a timetable to run after. Standard you just drive and you can speed without any penalties!
Standard can also have timetable. Keeping to speed limits is up to you as a responsible driver! I really wonder who is controlling your driving style in real life then...
Real locos have ATC and also Cruise Control. So you can't speed because the ATC check so you do not drive faster than the speed you are allowed to drive.
With a Career Scenario you depart at a fixed time and it tells you what time you are expected to arrive. Standard Scenario you depart at a fixed time and it tells you what time you are expected to arrive. If you Speed you fail the scenario as it tells you in the HUD when speeding and in the summary at the end. The Traxx and Vectron locos have AFB - Speed Control and some also have LZB.
The Traxx and Vectron have more than LZB. It also have ETCS,ERTMS and also other types of ATC which is needed for that country the loco will be used in.
Because what you say is different to what happens. If I drive a Standard scenario and I do not arrive at a loop or the destination on time or I speed it tells me I failed the scenario. But you seem to think that does not happen and you cannot fail a standard scenario or get a penalty for speeding.
Career scenarios can be saved to the web, are used by DTG versions to score Steam Achievements and help one feel an achievement. Standard scenarios are only saved locally. They both play the same. The only difference is if you care for scoring or not. As Spikee has mentioned in previous threads you can simply run any Career scenario with the scoring switched off. The choice of enjoying using the 'career' scoring mechanism and achievements is up to the individual. There are also many users who prefer neither and will just run a Quick Drive. All are good options. The majority of Career DTG scenarios are linked to Steam Achievements. There are currently no Czech and Polish routes which can be acquired via Steam. Due to this fact it may not be easy to find Career scenarios from these 2 countries.
