Edinburgh and Polmont for services operating via Stirling. We're aware that: 1] It is actually the Bi-Mode 800 Azuma that operates north of Edinburgh, however we believed players would appreciate the driving accessibility; and, 2] That LNER services do not stop at Polmont. However in the current iteration of the timetable many traction types operating are not accessible on the basis they do not stop on the available route and feedback has been that players would like these services available to drive. Thus the Player and AI must exchange somewhere for the trains to continue 'off route'
Thank you so much LucaZone - the Azuma is probably my favourite train to drive, so I'm really pleased that it has another section to operate on - even if it is not prototypical.
Perhaps in a similar vein we could get the 801 operating on FCL in the new timetable, drivable between EDB and KDY calling at HAY INK and KDY - like this - https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C47077/2024-11-26/detailed#allox_id=0
Hiya, So there are no wires that way (unlike full OHLE between Edinburgh and Glasgow). Its one thing to see an 801 disappear towards the Forth Bridge from the E2G route, but it's entirely different to see or drive one for 20 miles without wires.
Oops, didn't clock that it'd be under the wires to Polmont - I was thinking off the rails would need to be enabled or something!
Are the two GLC Azuma runs in your timetable as AI? (The early morning towards London, joining at Haymarket, and the late night to Glasgow, leaving at Haymarket.)
LucaZone firstly love the work you are doing on the class 158 and the E2G route, the timetable enhancements you've already made to that route make a massive difference, and these new updates including being able to drive the LNER Azuma from Edinburgh to Polmont is a huge positive I just want to ask on the new Fife Circle timetable, can you tell us what exactly is going wrong with that and any further details or updates please? I want to love the Fife Circle route so much but the current timetable is a huge, huge letdown.. i'm still hoping for you & your team to come in and really enhance it like you already did with MML and E2G. A new and improves Class 158 Fife Circle timetable is my number one thing i'm waiting for, so literally any info you have on it's progress (or no progress) would be so appreciated!
Morning, So the issue with the timetable is that it got into a tail chasing situation. Some services wouldn't simulate, and attempts to fix them (or remove them!) would have a knock on effect. Attempts to resolve that would knock on further and so on. We would roll back and attempt a different approach and that would have different consequences. It seems the Fife area operates quite differently to routes I've built timetables for previously. In my experience a train runs a largely repeated diagram for most of the day. This means in TSW you can setup a repeating pattern and have a train run back and forth quite happily. For trains running around the Fife area, what I found was they ran somewhere different on practically every turn. The same train was running all over the place, arriving into Edinburgh at all different times and platforms. Thus if one train ran into a problem, it wouldn't just impact services to a single destination, but to loads of destinations delaying loads of other trains. I've never experienced this tail chasing situation in all my time developing timetables for TSW. We've been talking to other timetable developers though and hope to start moving forward again over Christmas. Its not where we wanted to be but we'll keep fighting till we get it done.
thanks for explaining the situation, and it definitely sounds a lot more complex than you'd hope for! the main relief for me is that you're still working on it, as i just feel the original timetable is the biggest issue left on this route.. so if you can do something to enhance that and add the class 158 into the timetable mode it would be such a massive improvement, so i really hope this is something you can implement sometime soon. I really think the timetable work you did improving MML and E2G were such big and noticeable improvements, so i really hope you can still do something with Fife Circle despite the issues you're having!
Details on a coming update to the ScotRail Class 158. Just to confirm, there is no Fife Circle Sprinter timetable yet due to difficulties during development causing delays. This is still in production. Additionally, we have not added exhaust emissions as extensive continued research shows the 158s don't exhibition exhaust fumes. Effects were added for testers to examine and feedback indicated it was unrealistic. Finally, we are still working on understanding the suspension system in order to take advantage of it. Our first attempt was not liked by testers and so was reverted while we continue to understand the new feature. https://skyhookgames.com/tsw-5-scotrail-158-winter-2024-update-patch-notes/
Thats a bad decision.... Please delay the release and bring the full package please. Its the thing where everyone is waiting for!!! The class 158 doesnt match the reality for Scott rail Express addon.... This loco belongs to the Fife circle Line
thanks for the update, the further enhancements to the Edinburgh-Glasgow timetable sound really promising! obviously sad there's no class 158 timetable on Fife Circle yet, but i really hope that is something that you will still work on.. of all pending updates accross the entire game your Class 158 Fife Circle timetable enhancements are my number one wish.. i know you're having difficulties with that one but please don't give up on it!
From what I can see the majority of updates are to the timetable on Edinburgh to Glasgow (an already tarnished route by Rivet Games.) I saw 3 very minor updates to the class 158 and that was it. Please rectify the main issues asap: In my opinion these are: -Door Alarm is inaudible when there should be one -TPWS, GSMR and door release lights are all switched around -Train P.I.S always says it's the final destination no matter where you are stopped on a route. This needs fixed ASAP, especially for guard mode. -There should be some clagg as I have seen a class 158 set off fire alarms at Glasgow queen street before. Please contact Just Trains for advice and implement at least some slight engine exhaust fumes. -And of course the release of the fife timetable. This was originally what the class 158 was built for so really it should have been released ages ago. I understand the difficulties in making it but I think this should be the main focus on updates for now instead of additional timetable services. Thank you.
When the 158s originally entered service around 1990, they used to blow out a ton of clag too. If the noise of them leaving the station didn't deafen you, the clag would almost choke you to death. They probably fixed that over the years though, with new engines and refurbishments etc...
Thanks for the update. Your article mentions the Express Freight Pack. Which is this one please, as I don't think I know it by that name?
For anyone interested in spotting and riding the Levenmouth Rail Link livery in the updated Sprinter timetable released today, it operates the following times. It appears on the route near South Gyle around 06:05, 09:05, 12:05, 15:05, 1805 and 21:05 heading for Edinburgh Waverley. It departs Edinburgh Waverley at 06:23, 09:23, 12:23, 15:23, 18:23 and 21:23 to head back north.
I think the patch notes from DTG may be wrong. They reference: "Added diesel exhaust emission effects" and "Added new suspension improvement physics" But I'm pretty sure skyhook said these were both reverted. I got really excited when I saw auto announcer implemented, so really hope that will be fixed.
Hi Adam, Your new timetable still has E&G services going via Platform 2 at Haymarket, with only odd exception it needs to be platform 4. 1&2 at Haymarket for Fife Circle 3&4 for E&G services, plus those AI services via Shotts, Bathgate, Carstairs etc.
It's not there John Scroll back up, there's an explanation Short answer not been implemented due to issues After reading DTG patch notes, I've just verified, thinking something wasn't installed correctly,a few things got left out. Skyhook are pretty good with this sort of thing,I'm sure it will happen.
Why? The E-G pack is complete, and ready for release. It doesn’t affect the FC pack, as they are 2 completely separate routes, and so lets get it out there and allow them to concentrate on getting the FC timetable sorted, ready for that to release.
The patch notes of today suggest differently. I have no 158 appearing for fife circle/leven on EGS after update
Aye it's a case of Dtg publishing the complete patch notes, and skyhook , further up the thread, saying what's actually in the current update. Just did a verification on steam; Dovetails patch notes are in error There's plenty explanation Nov 28th from Luca Skyhook Short answer;each timetable on Fife runs a different pattern every time you select it, Skyhook couldn't work round it. It'll be after Christmas before they'll get their collective head's round it. On positive;the expanded timetable on the Glasgow to Edinburgh express makes the route busier.
I'm on a PS5 that owns the Class 43 GWR, Class 380, and Class 390 as well as the Fife Circle however aren't layered onto the Scotrail express despite owning them or even appearing as AI services for the least.
North, Just run two timetables on PC , they're there for me 380,390. , I'm not up to date with how the new consoles work,so verify the installation? Don't know if that's a possibility. Please note as mentioned earlier,Fife doesn't have it's new timetable yet. Dovetail patch notes are open to misinterpretation Example:158 Leven livery is visible on Edinburgh to Glasgow route at specific times of day.You won't see it on Fife circle till the new year.If I understood the Dovetail announcement correctly.
Hi Everyone, I can confirm that the patch notes from DTG about the Class 158 update are indeed incorrect. I have messaged them several times asking for them to be corrected. It is unclear where these notes came from as Skyhook supplied the change list details to DTG a while ago as part of the testing process, the same details posted here: https://skyhookgames.com/tsw-5-scotrail-158-winter-2024-update-patch-notes/
Hiya, Can you detail which services are wrong? Due to pathing requirements and the capacity available at Edinburgh in the TSW implementation so services need to run via Haymarket 1 & 2 in order to avoid bottle necking at the Edinburgh station throat. As the TSW version does not allow for multiple trains in the same platform, and some platform numbers being wrong, its not possible to exactly match the real world timetable. This is also one the reasons behind the Fife Sprinter timetable also running into issues.
I have to admit, I did get quite excited for the Fife timetable and suspension on the 158. Nevermind,it will be something else to look forward to,in the new year.
Correct, the DTG patch notes are wrong. If you wish to see or ride the Leven rail link livery unit 158719 in the E2G Sprinter timetable, it operates at the following times: It appears on the route near South Gyle around 06:05, 09:05, 12:05, 15:05, 1805 and 21:05 heading for Edinburgh Waverley. It departs Edinburgh Waverley at 06:23, 09:23, 12:23, 15:23, 18:23 and 21:23 to head back north.
Hiya, Do you own the ScotRail Class 158 DMU? This update applies to that DLC and the enhanced 'Sprinter' timetable it provides for the Edinburgh to Glasgow route.
I don't as of currently, I own the GWR HST, Class 170 and the Class 380. However hasn't received a timetable on my PS5, I'm not sure if I missed something a patch will be released later for consoles or at another date?
This update is for the ScotRail Class 158 DMU. The DTG patch notes indicating there were changes/additions coming to the default Edinburgh to Glasgow route are wrong. These details did not come from Skyhook Games and I've been chasing DTG all day to get the details corrected.
The patch notes are now correct: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-sim-world-5-game-update-december-17th.87833/
Driving the Azuma, 1E11, very pleased this is now in - thank you There was a load passenger instruction at Polmont, but the train is ~2 coaches too long for the platform. Wondering if perhaps it should just be load in, and off you go - without loading PAX
Any chance that the tip down seats in the vestibules (can B end for example) could be made functional please?
So while having a bash on it today, I was driving the 801 Stirling-Kings Cross service and noticed at Haymarket there was nothing on the platform PIS display for it, Platform 1. Even on the 2D map it didn't show anything as calling at the platform. I'm loving the updated timetable overall though.
